We purchased this car-seat before the birth of our daughter, having checked the fitting in our car and liking the styling of it we thought we had found the one. It cost us £90 including an additional base. The base is needed to fix the actual seat onto and does make every day use easier as it just clips in place. It is suitable from birth until around 7months and is a rear facing carseat. It can also be attached onto some of the mamas and papas pushchairs, although we have one and after trying once gave up as it was too fiddly.
Advantages to this seat: Its well padded and comfy for baby, the covers can be wiped down or removed and washed. It has a head-hugger for the newborns to ensure their neck is safe from swinging around. Attaching the seat to base is really easy, you just slot ontop and listen for the click. It has an adjustable harness that has 2 positions for the shoulder straps and is easily and quickly adjusted.
Disadvantages to this seat: Its very heavy especially as the baby grows, at 5months I could no longer lift her in it. The attachable hood is pretty pointless as it provides no shade (due to it being not long enough to come far down) and is quite flimsy, the hood is also difficult to attach and once in place makes the handle difficult to move. Although easy to clip onto the base the removal system can be temperamental, you have to lift a handle to release it and pull the seat up at the same time, this can be tricky to get to in small cars too.
Overall view of this seat is that Anna seems safe and secure in it which is of course its main purpose, she also seems comfortable and held in a good position. Despite this I wouldn't buy this again if given the chance as I don't find it very parent friendly.
Just as an extra bit of info I purchased this from my local nursery supplies store, but they sell M &P at most nursery stores and also at their own store at Cheshire Oaks (not the main bit but the shopping park behind it)

Hi I have this car seat too! as you may hav seen from my opinion and like you I find it too heavy! I just can't lifte baby and seat after 6 months so now leave the seat in the car! The hood is also flimsy, but I guess the deep seated design makes it very safe and works well with the Mama's & Papa's 3in 1 travel system.

Advantages: it is light, it is easy to fit, and feels very sturdy when it is fitted. Disadvantages: the sun canopy not very easy to take on and off, so don't use it very often.
Advantages: can be used as a travel system (if you are able to use the seat!!) Disadvantages: Far too upright for a newborn, heavy, difficult to fit belt around - AVOID!!!!
Advantages: Can be used as both a pram and pushchair without having to attach new bits, looks good! Disadvantages: Expensive, heavy to push, not very durable.

Review of Mamas & Papas Pliko P3
Advantages: The "one click release" system is easy and you can easily take the car seat from car to chassis with no fuss. Disadvantages: Car seat is heavy, can work out to be expensive.
