Like many new parents to be, my husband and I wanted the best of everything for our first-born child. However, we also wanted to be a bit different - we lived in a area where every second pram was either a Bugaboo Chameleon or Bugaboo Frog and we wanted to stand out from the crowd a bit.... So we...

initial expense, can be a bit bulky to store

Deciding which pushchair or pram to buy for your baby may sound like an easy task to those unaware of the advances in the world of baby transport. Do you want an MPX chassis? A Sportline chassis? Does it have a sports suspension? Pneumatic tyres? ABS? (or a brake!) A classic line? Front swivel...

Safe and comfortable

Bulky and heavy

We got the Ultima 3 in 1 in June 2004, a few weeks before our baby was born. It cost us £420 from John Lewis and we got it in black denim style material with the MPX chassis. I believe that M&P have updated the range of colours and materials available since then. Also I think there may be more...

“The pram thats got it all!”

published 19/04/2004

Versatile, easy to use, sturdy and very trendy (!)

It's a bit bulky.

When it came to buying a buggy my husband and I were at loggerheads. I wanted the traditional looking pram so our newborn could lie flat and my husband wanted something that would last longer than the first six months. Then we found the ultima. This three in one pram has it all. FIRST there is...

Car seat is heavy, can work out to be expensive.

This has to be the original Travel System, with Mamas and Papas being the first company to offer you the freedom of using any attachment (car seat/pushchair/carrycot) solo on any of their Chassis, with a simple on click attach/release system. But is origianl best ? When I was pregnant the moment...

Size. Price of accessories

I fell in love with the ultima system at first sight. The carrycot seemed so much more sturdy than some I had looked at and the idea of pushing a 'proper pram' round town really appealed to me. The fact that I am lazy and drive everywhere didnt occur to me! Luckily, due to the car seat attaching...

car seat made baby sweaty, pushchair bulky

I loved this travel system at first but have now gone off it. The pram was great to use as a crib for my baby son when he was tiny, he even slept in it at night with the extra mattress. When attached to the mpx chassis it was really cosy and safe for walks. Now my son is 6 months I've started to...

Happy that my baby is safe, warm and comfy

Too big for small car

This pram is very nice and was great. No need for a moses basket. I just bought the extra matress so that i felt Katie would be safe and that was her bed for the first 3 months. The biggest problem with this pram is the size. I never considered when buying a pram that I would need to take into...

“ultima but not perfect”

published 17/09/2007

versatile system

bulky, needs a stand when folded.

I bought the ultima with the MPX chassis for my grandaughter last year. The MPX chassis is easy to push and handles are adjustable for shorties like me. Easy to tip up and down kerps and steps and easy to attach carrycot pram seat or car seat too. Dissadvantages are of course size, will not fit...

I acually have the Ultima 8 in 1 but the only things I have extra to the 3 in 1 is a car seat and a surefix stand. When we started looking at prams I knew i wanted one to look like a proper pram. I didnt want a 3 wheeler or one of these that looks like a hairdressers tool trolley. And I knew I...
