-Multi position backrest, adjusted by a toggle at the rear of the backrest.
-Lockable swivel wheels, although I never used them.
-Large shopping basket. I proved its strength when carrying most of our shopping back from the supermarket inside the basket, even tins.

My husband and I had been married a month when we found out I was expecting. We were over the moon but realised it didn't really give us chance to save. We decided early that we would opt for a travel system as it would save buying a car seat and a pram. We looked around Mothercare and Babies'r'us at all the different options, the prices still seemed quite high so we looked at the old faithful, the Argos catalogue. We saw the Mamas and Papas Aria, it came as a pushchair on its own for £99.99, or along with the Primo Viaggio and Mamas and Papas accessories for £129.99. We decided to go for it as a package, again saving money.

-Suitable from birth to 3 years.
-Floating 5 point harness, allowing the child to move around. This is fine for a toddler, but not so much for a baby.
-Multi position backrest, adjusted by a toggle at the rear of the backrest.
-Lockable swivel wheels, although I never used them.
-Large shopping basket. I proved its strength when carrying most of our shopping back from the supermarket inside the basket, even tins.
-Rain cover included, the rain cover will fit over the pushchair and car seat if using it as a travel system.
-Bumper bar tray with cup holder.
-Free standing when folded.
- Surefix one click system that fastens the Primo Viaggio Group 0+ car seat. It took me a few times to get used to this but after a while I could do it first time.
-Folded dimensions (L)82, (W)23, (D)51cm.
-Handle height 98cm.
- Weight 5kg.
~*~*~OPENING THE PUSHCHAIR~*~*~
-To open pushchair, disengage the two frame locks at the bottom of the handle by pulling them outwards.
-Pull the handle upwards, continuing until the pushchair is fully open.
-Push down firmly on the handle until you hear a click.
~*~*~ADJUSTING THE BACKREST~*~*~
-To lower the backrest, press the button on the toggle lock and pull down until the backrest is in the desired position.
-To raise the backrest, hold the ropes ring in one hand and the toggle lock in the other. Pull the rope ring away from the toggle and the backrest will rise.
~*~*~OPERATING THE BRAKES~*~*~
-To engage the brakes, press the brake bar with your foot situated on the rear wheels.
-To release the brakes, push the brake bar up with your foot.
~*~*~USING THE HARNESS~*~*~
-To lock the harness, push the tongues on the ends of the waist straps into the buckle on the crotch strap.
-To unlock the harness, squeeze the ends of the tongues together and slide them out of the buckle.
~*~*~FITTING AND REMOVING THE CAR SEAT~*~*~
-In the corners of the seat where the backrest joins the seat base there are two flaps. Under the flaps are the attachment brackets. Rotate the brackets upwards, then push them towards the armrests until they lock in position.
-Place the backrest into its lowest position.
-Align the locking clips on the bottom of the car seat with the attachment brackets on the pushchair.
-Push the car seat down onto the attachment brackets until it locks into place (you will hear a click).
-To remove the car seat, pull the lever located on the rear of the car seat upwards. At the same time lift the front of the car seat with the other hand.
~*~*~CLOSING THE PUSHCHAIR~*~*~
-To close the pushchair, lift the two primary locks on the sides of the handle upwards and hold.
-At the same time, push down the secondary lock on the right hand back leg using your foot and push the handle forwards.
-Push the handle downwards until the frame is fully folded and locks shut (you will hear a click).
~*~*~MY OPINION~*~*~
As a travel system I couldn't fault it. It folds up neat and tidy and I like the fact it is free-standing when closed. The basket is very large, fitting in most of my shopping. Once you have folded it a few times it is extremely easy.
However, as a pushchair on its own I do not have the same opinion. The seat is uncomfortable as the backrest has nowhere to go when in the highest sitting position, instead the sides face in onto the seat and would regularly jab my son in the head. Although it is lightweight and folds neatly, it doesn't fold particularly small. This was no good once my son got bigger and we started using public transport. The rain cover is perfect for a travel system but it is far too big and difficult to put on as just a pushchair. Another fault is that as it has one handle, you cannot hang bags off it. Not good when you're a shopaholic like myself.
Summary: A good travel system, but if you are looking for a pram there are much better ones on the market.
Advantages: Comes with loads of extras Disadvantages: Too many to list here.
...be even available in the Mamas and Papas stores, or even on-line. In hindsight, I suppose alarm bells should have been ringing. When I bought this, I paid £99.99, although the price has since dropped to £69.99. It also came with a 6 month manufacturer guarantee.
So, what did I get for my money.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luckily I got the pushchair delivered, as it came in a very large, heavy box, that contained everything. So after I emptied all ... ...have to finish building it. The wheels, a bar at the back conecting the wheels, the shopping basket, and of couse the extras.
The wheels did need a bit of jiggling to get them to connect to the frame, but once fitted they are impossible to disconnect, so care does have to be taken that the wheels are put in the right place. The extras that came with this included a play tray/bumper bar to fit at the front for the child to use to play with toys whilst ...
After 6 months of putting up with this pushchair/travel system, I've finally gone out and bought a Maclaren stroller, mainly as my daughter was so uncomfortable I had to keep getting her out and carrying her. The pushchair and car seat were bought as a travel system. The description appeared to tick all the boxes (suitable from birth, lightweight, accessories included etc). However, it's not until you start using a pushchair, that you can see how ... ...it with the car seat attached as a travel system. This was ideal when going to the shops in the car, and the car seat looked more comfortable than the pushchair. However there was no way to lay the baby down flat, and with hindsight I'd rather have had a pushchair with a carrycot when going out for walks or longer periods.
As my daughter got older she became more interested in her surroundings and wanted to sit up so from 3-6 months I started putting ...
Advantages: Price, weight and extras Disadvantages: Foot clearance for taller people
...were nearly that at the Mamas & Pappas store. I have never had the need for a pushchair before so cannot compare it to anything else.
I did however look at quite a few others and decided without spending quiet a lot of money they were all pretty plastic and not going to last much longer than for 1 or 2 children. I guess I wanted something light also as my wife is on quite slight and did not want her struggling . I have no real complaints at all ... ...what respect it is dangerous.
My wife is more than happy with it and likes the storage area underneath. I do think it would benefit from being one hand collapsible and opening and yes it is rather large when collapsed. I am 6ft tall and find it a little awkward to push as I keep kicking the brake bare so have lean slightly which can become uncomfortable after a while.
All in all it was a quick, cost effective travel solution that serves our purpose ...
Advantages: value for money, lightweight Disadvantages: not one handed collapse
We bought this from Argos as a travel system to save money. I find it very easy to push and steer being so light weight. Its easy to put up, but collapsing takes a bit of practice (especially if you misplace the instructions!!) But after a week I could do it easily, the same goes for putting the car seat in the car. Our seatbelts don't retract so it can be fiddly, especially if you can't open the car door fully, but after practice it gets easier. ... ...a problem if you have a baby in your arms.
The rain cover baffled me to start with, and I'm still not sure I'm using it correctly, but ot covers all the baby and buggy and thats all that matters. Storage tray fits everything I need that won't go in her changing bag. I don't use the bag that came with it as its not big enough-I pack for every eventuality so need the space, and my change bag fits over the handle nicely. A problem did occur with the ...
Advantages: Lightweight, nice looking, handy food tray good raincover Disadvantages: Bulky when folded, some find difficult to steer due to being lightweight
As previous reviews, I purchased mine from Argos, I already had a Pliko but due to a neck injury needed something lighter. The Aria fit the bill and we used it as a travel system with the primo viagio car seat and I have to say this was a great item, so much easier to get in/out of car when raining than previous carseat used for my older child.
There are a few downsides to the Aria which are:
- Sun/Rain canopy too short and doesn't give enough ... ...- okay to recline almost impossible to get back into seated position with child in seat
- Shopping basket, although nice and big very difficult to get any shopping in when seat reclined.
- Raincover, lovely heavy-duty plastic however doesn't fold well and takes up all the basket.
- Very difficult to fold pushchair with footmuff attached
- Quite buly when folded as not umbrella mechanism
For what we paid I'm happy with my purchase, and my daughter ...
