Manchester University

Manchester Univesity is fantastic! The courses are great - especially in science and engineering and are well recognised as being good by industry. The city is vibrant and a very fun place to be a student. It's a cheap place to live - both for accomodation and going out. And the univeristy union is also excellent. The number of students there speaks for itself. I think Manchester has the largest student population in Europe. The city is also easy to get around.

The only disadvantage is that the crime levels are high - burglary of student houses in certain areas (e.g. Moss Side) is a popular past time for the locals. So make sure you're well insured. having said that, they are easily detered, an alarm on the house and decent locks puts the theives off pretty easily.
