construction as the 55PRO but uses different materials for the legs and all metal parts. Like the 055PRO, the 055MF3 has a three–faceted aluminum center column, which can offset the pressure of the locking system and the torsion caused while in the horizontal position.

Manufacturer's product description
The 055MF3 is an ideal tripod for many applications. The 055MF3 provides professional photographers with a tripod that's still very light in weight, simple to use, strong, and extremely versatile to position. The 055MF3 supports up to 15lbs, offers a minimum height of only 4.3 inches - which is perfect for low-angle shooting, and can extend to over 5 1/2 ft when needed. Without compromising on stability or rigidity of the tripod, Manfrotto engineers reduced the weight of the 055MF3 by utilizing carbon fiber legs with quick action lever locks in magnesium and resin.
Advantages: Sturdy, Precise, Hard wearing finishes, Robust materials Disadvantages: None (probably too heavy for a 35mm format camera user)
...Manfrotto makes 'un-complicated' tripods and this tool is simply one of the best tripods of its grade. The detailing, colour and finishes are very classic and robust at the same time. I use a Hasselblad V system and the 055D meets all my requirements on location.
One should also carefully choose the ideal head for the camera. The pan 'lock-in levers' on my Manfrotto Ball Head are built and finished very well (this head can easily support a medium format camera at any angle). The matt steel finish is very hard-wearing and overall a very smart looking Tripod.
The tripod requires less maintenance as well.
PROS: Good Weight, Ideal for Architectural, Interior and on-site work. Value for money. Long lasting.
CONS: None....

blurred pictures at a high magnification or a

for any length of time. You want support.

I have had this tripod since new year 2002, and I really like it, for when I'm going out and about, although I've no plans to sell my much heavier tripod yet, as it gets used a lot in the house.
I got a good deal on the tripod and head combination from Camera...

Great science fiction series come in all shapes and sizes, some become run away successes, some last a series or two, some just one. I’ve loved them all, Doctor Who, Blake’s Seven, Star Cops (a great series that should have lasted longer), and many more. more
