However, when I go out for an evening or want to make a good first impression I try to make a bit more of an effort. This involves trying to blow dry and straighten very thick shoulder length hair. After seeing ... ...using straighteners I decided that maybe I needed to get some heat protection.
Whilst looking around my local Wilkinsons I spotted this little beauty at 99p. What a bargain, even if it's not great for 99p I won't mind!

After seeing how dry some of my friends hair was looking after using straighteners I decided that maybe I needed to get some heat protection.
Whilst looking around my local Wilkinsons I spotted this little beauty at 99p. What a bargain, even if it's not great for 99p I won't mind!
Packaging --------------- The product is made by gum salon, who appear to do a range of hair care products.
It comes in a bright pink bottle with white writing outlined in black. It has a spray dispenser and instructions on how to use it on the back. The bottle holds 200ml which lasts for quite a while.
The instructions advise you to spray lightly onto wet hair, spread through to the ends using your fingers, and comb through, and then style as normal. If there was anything more challenging to do with the product then I personally wouldn't bother, but as I mentioned above I am lazy.
Product ----------- It sprays really easily from the bottle and doesn't feel sticky at all, it is a very fine mist but it does have a very fruity smell which I do find a bot off putting, however once you have dried your hair the smell is hardly there any more.
Does it work? ------------------- This is the first heat defence I have used so it is hard to say if it works all that well. I do notice that my hair doesn't seem to steam and sizzle when I put this spray on as it does without anything on my hair. My hair dos not look dried out after I have used it and my hair does still look nice and shiny so in my opinion I think this product is good, and if I can find it on half price offer again I would definitely pick some up.
It only gets 3 out of 5 stars because of the smell of it!

I lighten my hair from mid brown to a dark blonde colour and so it is dry. My style needs to be blow dried as I don't like it flat, my daughter insists I need to take better care of my hair and thinks that part of that is using a heat protecting product on my hair before I dry it each time.
This is the first heat protector I have ever tried but it seems ok, my hair feels no different but I don't actually know if it should.
This spray was only cheap ... ...lightly spraying onto your hair before combing it through for even distribution and the drying and straightening. This is also supposed to improve the performance of straighteners too but I have no idea about that as I do not use them. My daughter has used this on a couple of occasions when she has stayed over and she thinks it is quite good.
This smells rather odd, it has a very chemical smell but has a slight scent of strawberries.
