have used many more of the features available. One of my favourites is the nav buddy. It lets you enter the details of your mates who also have Nav 6 and it visually displays their location, on your map! There are various cool features such as the speeding alert, camera alerts, and the new London congestion charge feature that allows you to plan your trip around the fine zone. If you pay extra for Tomtom Plus, you get even more features such as traffic and weather updates, detailed city maps and different navigation voices. A simple but clever tol is the route recalculation. It updates your route if anything causes a need for a diversion. All in all, a pretty cool piece of mobile software, go get it! ...

Indispensible for outing yourself as a tourist in Southern Africa

Advantages: Comprehensive, up-to-date, well researched
Disadvantages: cumbersome to carry

with a focus on the impending World Cup. For me the advantage that the Lonely Planet presents over other publications is that it is not so in-depth of particular places within South Africa - other than Cape Town and Johannesburg, there are no special chapters for cities - e.g. Durban is included in the KwaZuluNatal chapter - even though it is a city of 3.5 million people. It breaks up the book nicely into the provinces, with the Provinces indexed on the open side of the book to assist rapid reference. The guide scores well on the number of maps it has, although if you intend to travel by car around South Africa, they are not likely to be sufficient - a good road atlas would be an essential. However, since certain places are not really that safe to walk in - e.g. the townships, and the maps are not detailed enough in this respect, the guides ...

South Africa - A World of its own

Advantages: It is beautiful, lots of things to do and see, good tourist facilities for both families and travellers, this place is amazing all round!
Disadvantages: Some areas can be very dangerous - but then most countries do

with good facilities. My favourite airport was Johannesburg airport. There were literally loads of facilities and loads of places to go, there were designer clothes shops, with things like Calvin Klein, etc, but the prices are great due to the exchange rate. There are great music shops, with all of the stuff we have here and more. There are some that are not brilliant, but there are none that I disliked. Warning though, some people try to take your trolley places and make you pay for their services. Tell them a firm no, because they are ripping you off. PLACES TO GO There are many places you can visit in South Africa. It could fit 3 UK?s in it and that is South Africa alone! You will probably need a map!
