Maple Story is addictive. Really addictive. Exploring the twee 2D world will take up hours of your life. Theres no overarching plot or story here, the main goal is to advance your character. Which will involve killing monsters for experience points and items. The graphical style is pretty unique, viewed from the side in 2 dimensions, meaning it looks and plays more like a platformer than an MMORPG. I loved the artwork in this game, each area has a very unique style and looks fantastic. The characters look good, monsters are detailed and have enough variation to stave off boredom. Advantages Fun for a while, easy to get the hang of
Disadvantages Addictive, community is a disgrace, time-waster

MapleStory, MapleStory, MapleStory... you could write a book on this game and the split in opinion it has caused. Some people say it is the best game ever made, some say it is a waste of time. I personally take the second opinion, but I respect the fact that, for some people, this game is highly enjoyable, if only for a little while. Picture the scene... Advantages Easy to play
Disadvantages Repetitive and similiar style to all MMORPGs

Maplestory is a typical online RPG but what makes this RPG different from all the other online RPGs these days is...that its graphics are set in 2D! MapleStory is a very simple game that, depending on the player, is either intriguing or incredibly boring. The gameplay centers around hunting enemies to gain money and experience points. Experience points slowly fill a bar at the bottom of the screen which, when full, makes your character 'level up', which lets you hunt more powerful monsters which drop more experience and money than before (Which can, of course, be used to purchase better gear, which will allow you to hunt yet more powerful monsters that drop yet more experience and money.) I started playing Maple story aka MS last year in June. The game is a free internet MMORPG and requires broadband internet connection in order to create an account and create a character. The game is simple to follow along with the very cute and stylishly gorgous graphics.
