Bought as Ex-Demonstration for £200, Possibly the best buy of HI-FI equiptment I have ever owned, Although this is the CD-6000OSE KI, It is built on the OSEs Design, it has some upgrades to the circuitry and copper plateing to the chassis. The sound quality is very good, brings out loads of detail I never knew was on my CDs. I previously used a Marantz CD 52 SE, I bought about 10 years ago and was time for something up to date. I still use the 52 in my bedroom, and It's still going strong with out a hitch and plays CDRs with out a problem.
It was the fact that the CD 52 has been so reliable that the new player I was to buy would probably to be a Marantz, and after serching the internet and reading reviews I would have loved to buy the CD17, but funds were not available. So I happend to see in a local HI-FI shop the 6000OSE KI For £250 which I managed to aquire for £200.
The 6000OSE KI is a well built and musical player, timing is good and it is smooth and detailed, definitely a bargin for the price. The machine is easy to use but a few minor criticisms would be that CDRs will Play but if I skip on to other tracks it will stop in error mode, and I have to re-load the CDR. I thought this might be down to burning speeds that are to fast and the error correction or burning was inconsistent, but even at 1X burning the machine will not skip on to other tracks with out error. Also I do miss the FTS (Favourite Track Selection) that the 52 has, and the display could be a bit brighter as it is difficult to see in a well lit room. Overall a great machine built on the Marantz tradition of fine CD players.

Good review. As Sarah says, try to watch those typos, and also try not to assume that everyone will know what your abbreviations mean. A very useful review will be one that is easily digested by both experts and novices! :O)
