HP Pavilion dv6

Advantages: Slick, lightweight design; good performance; built-in webcam;
Disadvantages: Low battery life, glossy display can be reflective

In my eyes, the DV6 is proof that laptops are very affordable. The specs are: AMD Turion 64, dual core processor 2 GB DDR2 memory 15.4â?³ WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800) 256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7200 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support 1.3 Megapixel Webcam with mic built into screen Altec Lansing speakers built in 3 USB ports, ExpressCard/54 Slot, Video Out, Windows Vista Home Premium these are the specs that the laptop my friend has. One of the things that sold me on this laptop was the screen. The screen is excellent. It is bright and clear, and provides a respectable 1280×800 resolution in a widescreen format. there are other notebooks with higher resolution. but It really comes down to preference. For me, I ...

Marantz deliver on the sound

Advantages: Great looks, expansive open and detailed
Disadvantages: Lacks a little bite, not ideal for loud volumes

There are a number of high quality amplifiers at the moment within the budget range and Marantz certainly figures prominently in this group. As with all of these amplifiers, they each seem to provide their own characteristic or sonic signature. In the case of Marantz, I usually consider them to be very open throughout the mid range and delivering a crisp clean bass or "snap" to the music. Therefore it was of a great interest to me to finally hear this particular amplifier which has been so highly praised in many publications. When you see this amplifier, it looks expensive, it has a curvy attractive design which certainly belies it's price tag. It is clear that there has been a great emphasis on aesthetics to allow this to stand up in this very competitive market and it certainly gets top marks for that. Secondly a welcome addition ...

A lifestyle: Blackberry Curve 8300

Advantages: BBM, Push e-mails, Beautiful interface, Easy customisation, Enhanced video media player, QWERTY keyboard
Disadvantages: GPRS internet connection, as opposed to 3G or Wi-Fi

Not only is the Blackberry Curve 8300 smartphone from RIM both the smallest and lightest Blacberry smartphone, it is also one of the best designs RIM has produced. Although the phone is only slightly smaller than earlier models, it is far more compact and supposedly 20% lighter, which really makes a difference either in your bag or pocket, enabling it easier to carry it around with you throughout the day. The colour display is truly impressive, and alternative themes come with the phone, and are also available for download from various websites. Similar to the pearl, it is equipped with a trackball rather than a thumbwheel. Compared to the iPod this was far easier than touchscreen, and did not smear the screen! Just looking at it, the Curve really is a beautiful phone. But if you are one who is unaffected by a phone's outward ...
