Any way I brought it home and got my mate to set it all up as he knows what he doing with this sort of equipment. ... ...as if i was a kid with a new toy that was how much excitment.
The system towerd over the room just like how i wanted it to with my cd player on top of it.
the amp was working perfectley and the quality i was just amazing specially with the A class mode feature. Plus with the power of 90 watts per channel the amp shown no signs of struggling.
i found the tone controls of being able to change the bass ... more

Any way I brought it home and got my mate to set it all up as he knows what he doing with this sort of equipment. i started checking out all the differnt features i felt as if i was a kid with a new toy that was how much excitment.

i found the tone controls of being able to change the bass and the treble to preicley how i want to a great adavantage i had my music sounding close to perfect but then i realised if you use the source direct feature you could inhance the quality even further.
But this is where everything went from great to extremly bad for me. I found out to my greatest of worries that using th A class mode overheated the amp to a unstable amount if kept on for to long. within a month and a half the amp siezd up.
so in a panic i got the instuction manual to see a load of warning signs about the amp overheating and how you must not put any thing on top of the amp within 2 metres of it and as my cd player was resting on top of it i soon found out why my amp had died on me so soon. it also says not to touch the top panel of the amp whilst the amp is turned on.
I sent the amp back to the store i got it from and there was more then happy to replace it thank god for that. these days i have my amp sitting on top of my cd player it looks a bit stupid now but at least it doesent over heat like it did and i am very wary of using the A class mode for long periods of time. but apart from this few faults i still love my amp and still think it was a great purchase for the money.
I would recomend this amp to any body that likes theer music to sound the way they want it to as the tone controls and other features do help alot to achieve this.
Advantages: Amazingly clear sound (especially so in Class A), well built Disadvantages: Very heavy, maybe not visually to some peoples tastes, can get hot in Class A
As anyone with a hi-fi separates system knows, whatever equipment you have can never be good enough. As soon as one piece of kit is purchased, another starts to look outdated or outclassed. Having recently purchased a Marantz Signature amp to complement Mission Floorstanders, my Pioneer amps were beginning look and feel somewhat old. I had been so pleased with the Marantz CD player (a CD-63 mkII KI), and have previously owned Marantz amplifiers, that the decision to buy the PM7200 KI was fairly straightforward. It has been widely proclaimed one of the best dual class amps in the sub-£1000 price bracket, and as someone with not a lot of spare money, this was a welcome relief! Obviously a dual class amp for around £400 is quite a rarity, let along a Signature Marantz edition.
Reading up on the amp in various magazines and websites ...
