Advantages: Future proofed and powerfull, with a touch of class Disadvantages: Expensive, a bit tempremental when it comes to HDMI switching
I spent a long time researching before I purchased this. Firstly, I would admit that I am a little biased. I am loyal to Marantz, after owning, as well as my family owning a few components. I listen to it through Focal JMLab 800V series speakers and Chord Odyssey cabling with Van Den Hul Interconnects. The clarity and control is evident regardless of the volume.

If I have one gripe (no two actually) it would be when switching to or from HDMI it sometimes doesn't pick up a signal and you have to go back to the previous source and back to HDMI and it would then pick it up. Not a big deal, really.
The other is the remote, it is very capable but you will need to be too, as I found it confusing to set up. Once you have though (you only need to once), the rewards are obvious as things are now simple, one remote for all!
