Marc Jacobs Lola Eau de Parfum

Having previously seen it advertised on TV and been cheekily nipping in to boots to have a spritz of the tester, I knew exactly what I wanted for my birthday last year and thank fully my mother in law was kind enough to buy it for me.

Lola by Marc Jacobs is a perfume that knows how to make an impression. The bottle alone screams girly glamour with its upside down tear drop shaped bottle (30ml bottle) made of thick, aubergine purple glass simple gold print stating the name of the perfume and designer in writing that is subtle yet still seems to make a statement. The lid is equally as impressive, if not more so with its gold, rope like band that leads up to a large elegant red flower. (The description above is of the 30ml bottle that I have, the bottle shape and colouring of the flower on top vary depending on the size of bottle).

If you're not already bowled over by the glamorous bottle, the scent is certain to leave a lasting impression. After doing some slight research I discovered that Lola includes top notes of pink peppercorn, pear and ruby red grapefruit with fuchsia peony, rose, and geranium as heart notes and base notes of vanilla, creamy musk and Tonka bean. One light spritz of the perfume opens your senses to the beautiful fragrance, within which the floral tones are the most obvious although once the perfume has settled a very subtle tone of vanilla and even more subtle tone of musk emerges and together creates an aroma that makes me think of glamorous women on par with the Upper East Side beauties from Gossip Girl or the legendary ladies of Manhattan from Sex and The City.

This perfume is so glam that it is accompanied by its own interactive website that portrays Lola as being a stylish, chic yet sexy young woman who is the epitome of style. You get the opportunity to peek into her apartment and have a nosy around her bedroom, living room and even her vanity room - you can't get much more glamorous than having your own vanity room now can you.

Personally I love this perfume and when I wear it, it makes me feel as confident and glamorous as Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and The City) or Serena Van Der Woodsen (Gossip Girl). A small spritz of the perfume is strong enough that people comment and give compliments on the fragrance that you are wearing but at the same time it is not overpowering. It also lasts really well on your skin so there is no need to frequently re-apply (a good job really as it's quite pricey). I think this perfume is perfect for almost any time of day or night but especially great those occasions where you can get really glammed up.

As I have already briefly mentioned, this perfume isn't of the cheap and cheerful variety. Boots are currently selling it at £37.00 for a 30ml bottle, £47.00 for a 50ml bottle and £63 for a 100ml bottle. But it is definitely worth the price for such a gorgeous scent and should be on every woman's wish list.
