Advantages Advantages Good fun, easy to play great games and use of the touch screen

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow to load after each event and slow to link up on wireless play

Anyone who remembers the days when mario was the king of all nintendo games and sonic sometimes came built in with the master system will know that both of them are classics in there own right. I was a little more excited than a mum of 2 soon to be 3 should be over a computer game when i heard this was coming out.. GAME MODES~ Theres a good choice when it comes to the different types of modes to play in. You can play in single match mode, this allows you to play one event at a time and you can pick and choose what you want to play. There are 8 sports and a total of 16 events to play when in ... more

Advantages Advantages Brilliant, addictive, fun, quirky and colourful game.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Potential screen damage.

Being the Dad of an incredibly mischievious two year old boy, that likes to break things, I have found that handheld consoles are the way to go for me. If I have my Wii or Xbox out whilst he is around, I am just asking for trouble. Despite this, I've played my DS only sporadically throughout the past year as my PSP has been the choice portable system for me. However, this Christmas, when all of my nieces and nephews got together with their DS's, I managed to play Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and it re-ignited my love for the DS all over again. I had chiefly heard about this game via it's ... more

Advantages Advantages Great graphics, great characters, great sound, great fun

Disadvantages Disadvantages There is a risk of damage to the touch screen

The 2008 Olympic games sparked off a whole host of sports related games for not just the Nintendo DS but most other platforms as well. The DS and its touch screen capabilities is ideally suited to these sports games, which in my opinion, is why they are so great on this handheld. Some of these sports games are really good with great graphics, good game play and are good fun (such as International Track and Field) and others are really poor (such as the The Woodley Summer Sports – although I think that this is aimed at younger gamers). It’s strange that Nintendo and Sega used to be in ... more

Once again another great game in the Nintendo DS range, I do think that you cannot beat Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games on Wii, but I do think that this is a great similar game that is on a portable console. This is a great game where Mario and Sonic to create one of the fastest selling games in a long time. This game has 16 Olympic from track and field, archery, skeet shooting, trampoline as well as Olympic events exclusive to the DS, such as Cycling pursuit and 10m platform and it has 8 unlockable Dream Events as you compete to get a gold medal. There are three game modes Single match ... more

Advantages Advantages range of events, appeals to different people

Disadvantages Disadvantages long time to load, definitely not as fun as the Wii version

General introduction With the Olympics in Beijing just months away and the London 2012 games constantly popping up in the headlines it's no surprise that Sega and Nintendo have joined forces for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. But can the game get gold? We got training to find out. If you remember Track and Field on the Atari and its need for you to violently shake the joystick from side to side, you'll know the premise here. The events Just as then, you are charged with competing in 16 Olympic events modelled after real-life Olympic venues with actual Olympic events including track and ... more
