Advantages: The amazing use of the two screens, the excellent dialogue, the clever little puzzles. Disadvantages: Its a bit easy short and linear
It's not often that a game makes you laugh. And I mean really laugh. You know, the kind of laughter that gets funny looks from anyone unlucky enough to be sat next to you on the train. The kind that, with each little chuckle makes people think, you know - A bit mental.
A good start for Partners in time then. Just like its predecessor, Superstar Saga, it's not just a celebration of all things Mario, it's a real class act in terms of ... ...fun at their best loved Mascot, (and friends) and deliver something that feels fresh.
At it's heart though its a pretty simplistic RPG. You have the usual trappings - a central hub of sorts, diverse locations to explore which end - perhaps a little too predictably - in the obligatory "Dungeon" and boss. And the graphics dio their job, bright 2d images, clear crisp and suit the game perfectly.

And the graphics dio their job, bright 2d images, clear crisp and suit the game perfectly. Yeah, so there's nothing original there, and to be perfectly honest as Rpg's go its a pretty linear experience - but it's the execution which really shines here.
Traversing each location isn't just a case of blundering around a vast environment looking for battles to boost Xp, or searching for the next doorway - the world is smaller and tightly designed than that. Each area of the overall map for every location is basically a set of puzzles (and in some cases one giant puzzle). This makes every area you unlock like a mini challenge in itself. They really try to get the gray matter working as you try to figure out how best to combine the brothers unique skills with each other over both screens. It never feels like a slog, and, more importantly it keeps your interest high throughout each level without any "Low periods" that plague Rpgs.
The level of quality extends to the turn-based battles too. Normally a rather tedious part of RPGS the action commands add a high level of interaction, and more importantly are more of a test of skill than patience. Better yet, the range of enemies- and the attack patterns they bring with them - make battles far more than a case of sitting back while they and the Bros take it in turns to slap each other around the face.
Despite being a very solid RPG, it never takes itself too seriously lending itself a a very good game =)
I picked mine up for 25 quid from a local shop of mine, its not out here yet so look to import. Thanks for reading. Tom
Advantages: AMAZING USE OF DUALL SCREENS,DIALOGUE AND PUZZLES. Disadvantages: A TAD EASY, AND SHORT.
...take itself too seriously.,, Granted, MARIO and LUIGI wouldnt be an obvios choice for a genre that prides itself on sweeping epics, but then that doesnt matter when your faced with something so funny as this. Theres just something very cheeky about it all, as it gives situation after another, which is reason enough to get this game..
GRAPHICS.....Simple and clear-which is perfect for a mario game and what you would expect.
SOUND...Your typicall ...

Advantages: Addictive gameplay Disadvantages: Doesn't use the touch screen
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is a sequel to Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. In this game the brothers travel back in time to retrieve Princess Peach, only to come face to face with baby versions of themselves, the princess and Bowser. They then have to team up with their younger selves to save the princess!
That means you can play as either the grown up or the younger versions of the mushroom kingdom inhabitants, which makes it rather a unique ... ...music can be, but then Mario games have always been the recipient of fun, catchy tunes. There is plenty of content here, it could take up to 25 hours to complete, depending of course how much you want to explore and spend battling enemies to gain items and to level-up.
Overall this is a very entertaining, engrossing game that it well worth a purchase! ...

Advantages: action packed, excellent and downright addictive Disadvantages: playing on small screen
... match the previous Mario platforms but this one is so addictive that I really can't put it down. If you like platforms like Spyro and previous Marios then this is definitely the one for you - I have spent the last week in the school playground 20 minutes early to pick the kids up from school so I can get some decent play time! In this game you play as two different Marios and Luigis - confused? You should be. You will travel in time to a kingdom ...
