In this Mario game you play a series of game modes;
Story Mode In story mode you play on a board, which you go round and go and try and get the most stars. Throughout this game mode, you get to play the variety of mini games that this game has.
Party Mode In party mode, you also play on the boards, you can either play on your own, in two player, tag team or even 4 individuals.
Mini Game Mode This game mode is simply for you to just play the mini games. You can again play up to 4 player in this mode.
Puzzle Mode In this mode, you get to play some puzzle games which is not really in theme with the game as such, but this means more games so Im happy with that.
In this game you can be a number of characters including: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi and Toad. My favourite character when playing Mario games when applicable has always been Yoshi. My lame excuse for choosing Yoshi is simply because he is cute and green!
The different game boards you can play on include: Wigglers Garden, Toadette's Music Room and Kamek's Library. Each board has its advantages and disadvantages. My favourite has got to be Wigglers Garden, I think this is because it is quite simple to understand the board, whereas in the board of Kamek's Library, you get teleported from one spot to another and can be quite frustrating and confusing.
There are up to 70 different mini games you can play in this game, which can make the game play longetivity pretty good, as there is a wide variety. Some of the mini games you can play on the DS version of Mario Party are: Fast Food Frenzy, Blowdown, Rotisserie Rampage, Hexoskeleton, Shuffleboard Showdown and Soccer Survival. The mini games all have different controls and this game certainly does use all the buttons in this game. For example you use the touch screen, L and R buttons, the cross pad, the a & b and even the microphone.
Overall this is a well designed game, and can completely is something you would expect from the creators of such Mario games. Good use of characters and also a hugh variety in what you can actually play in this game.
Advantages: a game that will last a long time Disadvantages: repetitive
...showing me how to play Mario Party on her DS over Christmas. I wasn't that impressed with the Wii version so I didn't really want to be playing the same game on her DS. Bless her heart though as I don't think she has seen her DS for the last week in the evenings as I have been playing the game myself and have now almost completed it.
During this time I have looked like a fool (read on), and had odd looks from my partner, but hey I've enjoyed myself.
... ...the title, Mario Party isn't a game especially for more than one player. It does have a multi player function in the game but there are plenty of ways you can play the game on your own too. The game is essentially set around a board game, with you playing three other Mario characters as you roll the dice and move around the board trying to collect coins and stars.
** Is there a storyline? **
Of course, there always is in these types of games. In ...

Mario Party DS
I would recommend this game to anyone who owns a ds. The game is easy to use, fun to play and very animated.
There are 4 different modes included in this game, Story Mode, Party Mode, Mini Game Mode and Puzzle Mode.

Each character takes their turn to role the dice and the characters move around the board, hoping to land on a place where there is a challenge or a star.
