When I bought the Wii 4 months ago someone advised me not to buy any sports games. I didn't understand why, but I think I'm starting to get the message.

***The Product***
The title tells you everything. It is Mario and Sonic at the olympics doing normal olympic games. The game has fed off the excitement of the Beijing olympics so now I wonder if anyone will buy it. There are 24 events that you can play on which are all based on events you would see at the olympics. You can play these events either in single match or circuit mode. In single match mode you choose to play only one of the events at a time, in circuit mode there are predetermined events and you must compete against computer players to win that trophy. The events are split up into athletics, table tennis, gymnastics, shooting, rowing, archery, aquatics and fencing. Some categories will maybe 3 or 4 different events in them whereas others may only have 1.
Apart from these events, there is also "Dream Events" where the player will race against computer players using objects found in games like "Mario Kart" or Sonic games. For this game you need both the wii remote and the nunchuck.

***Gameplay***
The gameplay itself is fun and enjoyable for everyone. You have a wdie selection of characters so whether you prefert Mario or Sonic doesn't matter. There are some events that seem really easy to complete whereas others seem just too hard. For example, the swimming relay can really make your arms ache whereas rowing or archery are the complete opposite. The downfall to the game is the events like running and swimming where you're arms get tired from waving the remote and nunchuck around so you want to stop playing sooner. But because of it's complexity, and sometimes even though your arms are aching you just want to complete the game, you become addicted to it.

***Graphics***
The graphics of the game are really impressive but it's what you would expect from a game that is played on such a highly technological console like the Wii and for the standards of the year 2008. Everything is in 3D but the creators put a lot of work into making sure that each character looked perfect. You will never see any graphics like this in any other Mario or Sonic game so I do think it should be praised.

***Money***
Depending on where you get it depends on the money. I think it's worth the money because you will get hours of enjoyment out of it. It's not a game that you will complete in a month or 2 that will then be put at the back of the TV. You'll find yourself playing on it a lot because the time just flies.

***Who's it for***
The game is suitable for anyone, though I think children would get too tired from doing the running and swimming events. The game also allows up to 4 wii remotes to be used with the game so multiplayer is definatly an option

***Additional***
Mini games are also included in the game along with character events. The mini games are unlocked after the one before it is completed. To unlock more character events, win more circuits. So if you need a rest from the olympics, why not try one of these?

***Conclusion***
Although the game will completely tire you out, it might build up your muscles :) It's a good game for a friend or family night in with plenty of events, circuits, minigames and character events to complete. As I said before, the game is worth whatever you pay for it because it won't be one you'll complete quickly so you can really can your money's worth.

I hope this is helpful. Thank you for reading :)
