Right next door to the pet shop is a new Marks and Spencer's Foodhall and, joy of joys, I had £20 of M&S vouchers which I thought would minimise the damage that I was bound to do to my credit card. Mediocre & 'Spensive

Advantages: Nearly everything is ready-prepared.
Disadvantages: Nearly everything is ready-prepared, transported by air and expensive.

...majority of sellers of vegetables Marks & Spencer fall into the trap of believing that they must be clean. Most root vegetables deteriorate when they meet the light and a little dirt is good protection. These vegetables were aggressively clean and more expensive than I would expect to find in what is, after all, basically a supermarket.

I was impressed by the encouragement given to people to eat at least five portions of fruit and ... more

Top Marks for Food to Go..

Advantages: Great selection, top quality..
Disadvantages: ..except carton - yuck!

...I looked, an opinion on Marks & Spencer Food to Go. Food to Go is the new name for its sandwiches and general snacks – the ones that workers buy for lunch. If you’ve ever entered a Marks & Spencer store at around 1pm on Monday lunchtime, you will see hundreds of people wearing smart suits all crowding round one particular part of the store. That part, of course, is the Marks & Spencer Sandwich Store.. bliss! Competitors.. Other stores, ...
...but are failing. You see, Marks & Spencer is the king of two things – sandwiches and ladies underwear, and there’s nothing that will stop them. Petrol stations are also trying to nab M&S’ business, but are miserably failing. The un-specialist food shops are trying to sell food, but there’s no point in even trying – or buying what they sell, because it’s often dry and tends to taste pretty nasty.. Rebranding.. ...

Fantastic Feasts

Advantages: excellent quality food, great range of products, helpful staff
Disadvantages: a little pricey (but worth it!!)

...a HUGE fan of the Marks and Spencer foodhalls. I know I probably don’t fit in with the stereotypical image of an M&S shopper, but I absolutely adore their foodhalls. With all the talk in the media at the moment of Marks’ failing fortunes, I felt it was about time they were defended by one of their biggest fans. Being a Marks addict runs in the family – some of my earliest memories are of complaining when my Mum used to drag me round ...
...will tackle first, is that Marks are too expensive if compared to a normal supermarket. To be honest, price isn’t always a major consideration for me (and you’re probably going to want to hit me now) because my parents gave me my own M&S chargecard on their account when I turned 18. However, I don’t want to take advantage of their generosity, so I do still try to shop sensibly. Other reviews have complained that the price of Marks’ ...

Hallowed be thy Foodhall

Advantages: Great food
Disadvantages: Frequently unavailable, and products are moved around far too much

So our Marks who art with Spencer's aren’t doing so well these days for one reason or another, we shop there every week (in Shrewsbury), in the food hall that is, the rest of the shop we don’t bother so much with, but in the food hall they do have quality foods, some great deals, some good vegetarian foods, and quite a variety. I admit it, I love Marks and Spencer foods, it was my wife that used to go there for her food before we met ...
...may know I’m vegetarian, and Marks and Spencer do some really good vegetarian meals including, lasagnes, pasta bakes, ratatouille, a really nice vegetable curry and...... well so on and so fourth really. They also have vegetarian cheese (for those that may wonder, part of a calves stomach is used in ordinary cheese), as much as I’d like not to eat cheese and dairy products I just don’t want to (lets face it there’s nothing ...

Ready Meal Heaven

Advantages: Convenience and quality
Disadvantages: Expense

...bit of an expert on Marks and Spencer foodhalls. It’s the nearest supermarket to my work, so convenient for lunchtime sandwiches, quick snacks and those evenings when you know there’s nothing in the fridge at home. Marks and Spencer have had some image problems over the last few years, mostly to do with being a bit staid and boring, especially in the fashion department. However, there’s nothing dull about their foodhalls, especially if it’s convenience ...
...quality ready prepared meals, where the only cooking involved is removing the cardboard box and piercing the film with a fork before popping in the oven and putting your feet up for 20 minutes. There are a number of ready made ranges, from the usual Indian and Italian range to the more original Café Culture range which is a selection of dishes that you might find on the menu in your local brasserie, such as braised lamb shanks or Galician meatballs ...

This is not just any review. This is a Marks and Spencer Review.

Advantages: Good quality and tasty food
Disadvantages: Quite expensive

...have your own opinion about Marks and Spencer in general, with some people still perceiving it to be a tad old fashioned and unimaginative. However, the same cannot be said about Marks and Spencer's food department. The reason I buy Marks and Spencers food is because of the taste and quality. I often pop into Marks and Spencers on the way home from work if I don't have much in the fridge and fancy a quick but tasty convenience meal. To be fair, I ...
...I can stop off at Marks for 10 minutes and manage to pick up a nice meal for tea, whereas if I went elsewhere, I just wouldn't find much that would appeal. My local Marks and Spencer is a small store, but the selection of ready meals is well focused with a good selection to choose from. My favourites which I would recommend include the Cumberland pie (which is nice and crispy on the top with a tasty mince and gravy filling), Chicken pie, Quiche and ...

Marks And Spencer a good store for me

Advantages: Worm and pleasant to shop in.
Disadvantages: Some items can be a little pricey.

Well I must say Marks & Spencer is not to bad. It was my first visit to the store as I was looking all over the place to get something for my Mom and Gran. So I was just walking down the high street and I thought what the hell. So I went into Marks & Spencer to see what they have to offer. Well I was pleased by the amount of small gift idea's and a range or alcohol & chocolate Gift box. Very cheap as well. If I new what marks & Spencer had before. I would have saved allot of time. Right from when I walked in I was greeted by a nice, bright and worm atmosphere. Although I did feel a little uncomfortable as I was the only chap wearing Adidas and trainers whilst every one else was in some posh or decent clothing. But what the hell I though. I'd show em class lol. I only originally meant to look about for about 5 min's but I ...

The future of Marks and Spencer

Advantages: well established well known Store of Great Britain, good exotic food range
Disadvantages: needs to modernise, quality is failingon clothing, losing profits (and customers...)

[This is an opinion on the future of M&S Today from an economic/business strength ] One of UK’s most well known Stores has been in troubled waters since the last few years it has steadily been losing profits and customers. M&S had always been associated with a mark of quality and good clothing for the majority of Great Britain. With the changing times...suddenly M&S was left behind. M&S has drastically been trying to cut costs, it has sadly cancelled contracts with British suppliers in knitwear, lace, underwear etc, and now most of its goods are made in Israel, Romania, Turkey, India, Pakistan (which is not necessarily a bad thing but to cut costs they are taking a more lenient approach to QC) with very little UK manufacture - which seems to be true of most trades not just clothing, like cars for example!! Gone were ...

Marks And Spencer - APALLING !!!

Advantages: Good Quality Clothing
Disadvantages: Prices, Service, Shop Always Boiling

ok i know this is going to end up being more of a rant than a review but im sorry and feel the need for this to be written. i recently went shopping with my sister, who needed a suit....so we went to marks & spencer, despite having nothing on the shelves in the after-christmas jumble sale we did manage to find something suitable...... so she went to try it on and it was far too big, and as no other sizes were on the shelf we had to go and ask someone. having found someone we asked if they had it in the smller size and the girl turned round and said " no we dont sorry" now that truly amazed me, the store was huge and there was no way that one person could memorise exactly what sizes of each item were in stock and if any of them had been sold. So we decided to go and ask someone else who gave basically the same answer ...
