Marks and Spencer

I had to go and get some dog food yesterday morning. Right next door to the pet shop is a new Marks and Spencer's Foodhall and, joy of joys, I had £20 of M&S vouchers which I thought would minimise the damage that I was bound to do to my credit card. Peter was coming along to heft the sacks of dog food, so I reckoned I'd be spending a fortune. I didn't know what to do a review on today so I've decided to write a couple of reviews on things that I've used today, in this case a place I've been to! Today I had to go Marks and Spencer's with my Step-Dad. We went there to go get a dressing gown and matching nightdress for my Mother for her birthday which I will tell you about at the end of my review because it's about customer service. My family have always been a Mark's fan. My mother still calls it Marks and Sparks! *I could find nowhere better to put my opinion - this will have to do!* I was looking around Ciao recently and was amazed to find that I could not find, wherever I looked, an opinion on Marks & Spencer Food to Go. Food to Go is the new name for its sandwiches and general snacks – the ones that workers buy for lunch. If you’ve ever entered a Marks & Spencer store at around 1pm on Monday lunchtime, you will see hundreds of people wearing smart suits all crowding round one particular part of the store. I’m happy to wave my hand in the air and admit that I am a HUGE fan of the Marks and Spencer foodhalls. I know I probably don’t fit in with the stereotypical image of an M&S shopper, but I absolutely adore their foodhalls. With all the talk in the media at the moment of Marks’ failing fortunes, I felt it was about time they were defended by one of their biggest fans. So our Marks who art with Spencer's aren’t doing so well these days for one reason or another, we shop there every week (in Shrewsbury), in the food hall that is, the rest of the shop we don’t bother so much with, but in the food hall they do have quality foods, some great deals, some good vegetarian foods, and quite a variety. I admit it, I love Marks and Spencer foods, it was my wife that used to go there for her food before we met and is why we shop there now, although what we do get from there is slowly decreasing - but more of that later.
