Advantages Advantages great humour fro all the family

Disadvantages Disadvantages lacks a little in later series

Creators: Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt Producers: Barbara Blachhut Cramer and John Maxwell Anderson Stars: Ed o'Neill, Katey Sagal, David Garrison, Amanda Bearse, Christina Applegate, David Faustino and Ted McGinley I remember first sitting and watching this and thinking this was one of the funniest sitcoms I had seen for a long time… especially as there was absolutely nothing else worth watching at the time, (and I didn't have any money left to go out to the pub..?) It seemed like a simple format… man hates married life, can do nothing about it so simply tries to ignore everything that is ... more

Advantages Advantages One of the funniest sitcoms of its era

Disadvantages Disadvantages plots get weaker in the later years

"Married With Children" is a classic TV show that blew the lid off the smarmy, goody two shoes perfect TV families of the past. For decades, all the TV families featured perfect, doting parents and goody goody kids that are always ready to listen to their parents. Problems are solved with minimal difficulty. Al and Peggy Bundy are not exactly what you would call good parents. Peggy (Kate Segal) is a lazy, self centered wife more interested in Oprah and bonbons than in doing housework. Al (Ed O'Neill) is the perennial loser who is stuck in a dead end job as a salesman in a women's shoe store ... more

Advantages Advantages quite a novel idea, for its time

Disadvantages Disadvantages really badly done, and overacted too much

I have read all of the comments by others on this show, and fail to agree with them on so many points. I would never have written a review and opinion on this program, had I not seem it's Christmas Special (repeated on Paramount this weekend) which really made me think someone should speak out about this alleged Comedy Classic. Married With Children is complete and unmitigated dire tripe. The cast, over many years, consist of Al and Peggy Bundy (Ed O'Niel and Kate Segal). Al is your typical non entity, American Joe, with too much work on his hands, and an ungrateful family. Peggy is a lazy ... more

    Advantages Advantages great comedy characters

Disadvantages Disadvantages it only lasts 30 minutess

Does anyone know anyone like the Bundy family? Well I hope not – and then again…. Who would not like to live next door to a sexy siren like Kelly ? No red blooded male I know anyway. Who doesn’t know someone just like Peggy Bundy? All tarted up – just to stay in and watch TV. Always wants her man to service her – but can’t be bothered to cook, clean etc. Anyone’s wife like her? What about poor young Bud? Can’t get a girl – one that he doesn’t have to inflate anyway – untrendy, but tries to act cool. You know a Bud, I know I do. Then there is Al Bundy. My hero. Every man’s hero surely – a ... more

Advantages Advantages will have you identifying with something!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages watch a few, it really does grow on you

This program has been around since the year dot...well. it seems like it! I think it's only currently showing on some obscure sky digital channel but if you can watch it...do! I remember watching an episode late on ITV years ago and wondering what the heck was so funny, but when it became a regular slot at 6pm on Sky One I was watching it daily and laughing constantly! Al Bundy, the father/husband is a shoe salesman and not exactly proud of it! He is conviced that his wife, Peggy, held him back and he feels hard-done-by to say the least! Kelly bundy is the typical bimbo blonde daughter and Bud ... more
