Review of 3001: Final Odyssey - Arthur C. Clarke by willboy12

...them to communicate with each other by thought. There is no real mention of day to day people relationships. True there is mention of sex and Poole gets married, but even this doesn't enlighten us further on the mood of the times. Enevitably, we come on to the issue of those never changing monoliths. In this book, Frank is able to communicate with David Bowman and Hal, now one entity. He finds out the meaning of the monoliths and their purpose, but in the end he manages to destroy the main one and eliminate the threat from these God Like cretures. Advantages: Informative, great read, realistic portrayal of Marilyn
Disadvantages: The book might be hard to find

He previously wrote The Prince, the Showgirl and Me, which details his work on the film over a longer period of time. My Week With Marilyn concentrates solely on the period of September 11th to the 19th, 1956, which was not written about in the first book. Unlike other authors who may claim to have slept with Marilyn or even married her, Colin Clark does not come across as exaggerating his contact with the film star. He didn’t have sex with her and certainly has never claimed to have married her. Clark’s account of his time spent with Marilyn is a beautiful tribute. He does not paint Marilyn as perfect; he is as honest about her faults as he is about her wonderful qualities. This means that the Marilyn Monroe portrayed... Read review

...likes to get involved with other peoples problems. Alvirah finds out a lot about Leila's life and this puts her own life in danger. She also finds out about some of the secrets that Min's Husband has. One begins to wonder if Min knew them but didn't tell anyone. This is where my story ends. I will tell you that there are so many twists and turns in this book you won't be able to put it down. ~O THE AUTHOR O~ "Mary Higgins Clark's Parents came from Ireland to the United States.
