...Solid! That's what it is, no question. I bought the cab new in 2000 and use it with a Marshall 3520 integrated bass amp 200w MOSFET. Initially, I had problems. At mid-volumes the bottom end would fart and lose power. After seeking advice, I was told that the amp couldn't cope with the "low" impedance cab. The amp is rated at 200w at 4 ohms; I measured the cab and found it was 3.4 ohms, slightly less than the 4 ohms stated on the rear plate. I then rewired the cab - two 10" speakers in series, then paralelled with the 15". The resulting resistance measurement showed 6.7 ohms. I plugged it back in to the amp and what an amazing sound came out! I'm happy as Larry with it, powerful, ounchy, just magic. I was playing Ernie Ball Stingray (4 string) through it. I bought an Ovation 5 string acoustic bass and found that the internal preamp made...

Advantages: Awesome Bass Tone and Proper Marshall Sound, Extremley Good Value For Money!!!!! Disadvantages: Hard To Transport, But Shouldnt be a problem with 2 people, Hard to store.
...Hi Dudes!!
This cabinet to me is easily the best buy out there, and this is backed by the number of pro's that use it. Even the legend of joe satriani uses a peavey head but reverts to using the great sound quality of marshall speakers. The amount of bass tone you can produce out of one of these is imense, the sound is so much better than a 2x12 as you get a much bigger sound from the 4x12.
People worrying about noise levels these cabinets do make it any louder they simply produce a bigger sound, the sound level is still controlled from your amp and will not change.
And by the way check gak for better prices or even ebay, much much cheaper!!!
Peace!!!...

Advantages: Good Sound Quality, Reasnably Cheap, Not Very Heavy Disadvantages: Slightly Lacking In Bass Tone And A Big Sound
...Hi Dudes!!!!
This Marshall 2x12 Speaker cabinet is a great way to introduce a new head from marshal or another company such as peavey. The sound quality out of the speakers is quite bassy and high quality, not quite as good as the 4x12 but will defetenly keep up with any sort of head you choose. Although this is a very good speaker cabinet and would be alot easier to transport than a 4x12 i would always choose the 4x12 simply beacuse they are not much more expensice than the 2x12 and you get a noticable amount more of bass and an all round bigger sound, giving you the real Marshall experience and sounding alot more like the pro's than what the 2x12 would
Although of this the 2x12 is still a very good buy and say and will always say if you buy a marsahll its never going to be a bad buy!!!
Peace!!!...
