The MS-2 is based on the original 100 ... ...Marshall product group back in the 80s, and believe it or not even sounds like one. The distorted overdrive sound is excellent, and you can even reproduce the feedback squeals effectively.
The controls are limited to a 3 way switch for on - off - overdrive, and you get standard volume and tone kicking butt through a tiny 0.3 watt speaker that is actually quite loud.

The MS-2 is based on the original 100 - 150 watt range of combo's made by the Jim Marshall product group back in the 80s, and believe it or not even sounds like one. The distorted overdrive sound is excellent, and you can even reproduce the feedback squeals effectively.
The controls are limited to a 3 way switch for on - off - overdrive, and you get standard volume and tone kicking butt through a tiny 0.3 watt speaker that is actually quite loud. What I occasionally do with mine is attach it via the headphone socket into my 300 watt PA or my stereo, it works just as well as a normal slave system and in turn bumps up the overdrive effect to a very real one. It's a great little gadget, and quite comical to use or be seen using, an excellent value practice amp at around £30.00 from any good music store.
Advantages: Portable, oher uses Disadvantages: Poor OD Channel
This amp has got 1 volume, 1 tone and one Off/Clean/OD knob. It has a single input at the front and a headphone out on the side. As stated above it has a clean and an overdrive channel, the latter being much louder. I mainly use this amp when I'm playing in the garden or outside. I also use it as an iPod speaker thanks to a patch cable and a jack adapter. I play too many styles to mention and it handles about half of them. One feature I wish this ... ...be very weak. I use this amp with a Harley Benton superstrat or with an Epiphone LP 100. As mentioned with a bit of coaxing it can cope with some of the styles I play. The distortion is not brutal enough unless it is cranked which leads to quite a lot of unwanted fizz. When either of the channels is over about half the start to break up and distort, this adds some crunch to the clean channel and a bit too much fizz to the OD channel.

The Marshall MS-2 is the smallest amp I have ever seen and it can be taken anywhere to use as a practice amp. The MS-2 is so small I have had people ask me if it actually works and then be amazed when I plugged it in, it is so small you can attach it to your belt with the clip on the back! If you ever wanted an amp to carry around with you and practice with then this will be a good purchase.
Even though the amp is so small it is actually quite loud. ... ...amp does actually have the Marshall sound, when comparing with larger amps I found the sound to be very alike. You will not get much variety out of this amp though, with only a tone control and distortion (on/off) you will be playing pretty much what the amp can produce (which I think sounds great).
The amp does also have a headphone socket so you that you can play the guitar to yourself whereever you are. There is an option for a power pack or ...

The Marshall MS-2 is an amazingly practical device, it is 100% portable since it is powered by a 9V battery but if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on expensive batteries then it can also be powered by a 9V DC cable (which can be purchased for around £15). There are three main controls on the MS-2: a volume control, a tone control (alters the bass and treble depending on which way you turn the knob) and a drive select/power ... ...it is also the on/off switch. The only downsides to this amp are that the sound quality starts to deteriorate when the volume is turned up high and the distortion can also become quite fuzzy when it is turned up high. It also eats batteries so I would recommend that you purchase a mains adapter.
Overall I think that this amp is very practical and useful due to its size and portability-it even has a belt clip so that you can play and prance around ...

Well the marshall ms 2, possibly one of the the worlds smallest and best looking "stack'a'likes". This tiny 2 channel beast could not be any simple to use, it runs off a 9 volt battery for absolutely ages (I havent replaced mine in about 2 years!), has one input jack, one headphone jack, a volume, tone and an ON/OFF/OD and a handy little belt clip so you can rock as you walk ALL the way around your bedroom! For those of you expecting to sound like ... ...this as the sound quality is not great on its own, The clean channel is very twangy and distorts quite a bit, if you do want a better clean sound out off this it is a good idea to lower your guitars volume so that you do not drive it as hard. The overdrive channel is actually quite nice if you want a more vintage sound like Toni Iommi or Jimmy Page. Both the volume and tone work with both channel, but again don't expect it to be mega loud, I used ...

Owned my Marshall MS-2 amp for a few years now and thought i\'d write my thought on the little blighter!! lol
If you are not familiar with this amp, i believe it is the same one ad used by Jack Black in School of Rock.
This little blighter is almost perfect if you\'re looking for a small, portable practice amp. For strumming on the couch, taking to your mates, camping or a jam session at a friend\'s house or on in your garage, shed or wherever ... ...your axe!!
The amp is great. Looking at other people\'s reviews, you\'ll find them complaining about the quality of the sound. Atthe end of the day, if i wanted a big poweeful ultra clean sound amp, i wuld have gone for a 65w Valve state or something. This little baby only has 2INCH SPEAKER & 1 WATT OF POWER! COME ON! You shouldn\'t expect the sound of a real half-stack or a Fender Twin Reverb. I think it\'s pretty darn good for what it is. And ...
