This movie is a masterpiece. If you have fascination with the eastern arts, there is a lot of things in this movie that will be interesting to you. Its as if the director wanted you to experience the life of warriors. As opposed to kung fu movies where one guy has a quest and goes and kicks everyone's ass, this one is quite different. Its not very techno, when it comes to image capturing, like the matrix, but its the fully captured scene which communicates the values of what perhaps the Eastern cultures hold on to as a proud history that sets this movie apart. Disadvantages: Requires concetration.

The first time I saw it I didn't understand as it was in Mandarin and subtitles in Swedish. A nameless warrior wants to kill an emperor. Isn't that ordinary? But when that warrior talks to the emperor introducing different versions of the assassins' plotting the simple story becomes intruiging. ...in my local DVD shop, House of Flying Daggers alone cost more than this combination. This makes no sense to me, so, ievitably, I bought this one. However, aside from being fo the same genre- Martial arts - these DVDs have nothing at all in common and so I was a little disappointed that they couldn't come up with a better combination. ...the quality or memorability of House of Flying Daggers. The stunts are less well choreographed, and the general standard of the film is brought much lower. It is more of comedy-action film and the American acting drags down the standard of this set somewhat. Still, on its own Bulletproof Monk isn't a below average film and it is definitely watchable.
