From an isometric camera view, you lead a team of four Marvel stars through hordes of expendable henchmen and glowering robots, occasionally taking detours to solve simple puzzles and bash on the villains standing between you and fist-pumping victory. You lead one hero at a time, while the AI and/or other players, online or off, control the other three.
The game has you take control of a vast array of fighters from the marvel universe such as spiderman or wolverine. It is a beat em up gam,e at heart with most of the action containing you beating up badguys in a group of the heros. For once, mindlessly button mashing is fun as the screen will light up with sparks and powers. it also contains what is known as fusion attacks, which are special moves for two heroes and are extremely fun to pull off. Two two dozen superheros can alos lift objects, throw enemies and perform four superpowers which gets limited through a recharging meter at the top of the screen. All characters are powerful, they're all fairly balanced, but that doesn't make them all correspondingly fun to play.
The graphics are much more inmroved this time round and the superheroes look great. Enemies are equally good but repeat all the time, with maybe 5 enemies per level. Environments are pretty detailed also but there is some bland textures to be had. Environments are attractive and you'll traverse a nicer variety of locations than in the first Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. There are still too many sterile interiors, but outdoor regions look terrific and colorful. The effects are really good and fun to watch as they seem powerful and colourful. The frame rate can't always handle the excess of particles and explosions; it takes noticeable dips here and there, especially when you're playing online.
the enemy AI is pretty good for a beat em up, the enemies all have combos themselves and will use them at different points, they will all try to go for the one with the least health. But because it is a beat em up, it doesn't really matter about the AI because everyone is just punching each other.
The game suffers from l;oads of technical glitches and oddities. I found myself glitching in and out of objects and scenery, and enemies bodies doing the same. Allies and enemies AI will stutter in and out of animation and sometimes will stand in the chaos but contribute nothing to the actual fighting. These are very noticable and are really annoyng in moments. The game has also had its RPG elements take apart and put togetheer more small and is not as good as the first games RPG elements. Also throughout the story the voice acting is inconsistent and a little cheesy, with deadpools campy laugh and gambit sounding odd.
Overall, Marvel is a good game. The graphics and addition of a great story with line written dialogue are great additions along with the new fusion attacks. But the technical side poorly strips the score.
Advantages: Lots of action and superheroes to choose. Disadvantages: Repetitive and too many bugs.

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (Xbox 360)
Advantages: great character choice Disadvantages: limited gameplay, dissapointing graphics & sound. Poor AI
I initially purchased this product because I was sold on the fantastic cover, it looks like this game is full of action and amazing gameplay. Unfortunately the game fails to live up to the cover!
I found the game sound quality to be poor and the gameplay drawn-out and lacklustre.
One of the big upgrades from the last game in the series is the multi-character power-ups, which is amazing the first couple of times but becomes quite boring as you go ... ...can jump into multiplayer mode which is a nice feature, especially as the AI offers a limited amount of support, I often found them wondering around looking for someone to attack even if my screen was full of enemies.
The in game character list is substantial and others a wide variety of choice, as this type of game should.
The end of level bosses are very good and do start to make this game quite enjoyable.
In conclusion this games saving points ...
