Within the city or where speed controls are rife, the car run smoothly as if it did not have the huge engine it has. The temperature never goes above 90, and the engine makes a cool and soft noise.
The gear has 6 speeds, which add to the fun of driving this beauty. The acceleration is terrific, I have overtook few cars with such ease, while with other cars, I would not even have dreamt about it.
If a small defect exists, it is in the 1st gear, which I found "too short". Particularly at the beginning, I was either overdoing it with the first gear, thus bringing the engine indicator in the red zone, or doing too much, thus missing out a bit on the full potential.
On wet roads, the cars behaves wondefully, it still sticks to the ground as if it were not pouring down.
In terms of comfort, the driver's seat is very comfortable and everything you need can easily be reached without loosing control of the car.
Consumption of petrol is a bit of a pain, particularly in town, I believe down to 5 km per liter.
But then, this is not a car you wish to drive in town at all.
I regret in USA, like in UK, they have far too many speed cameras.
We had found a stretch of car void of speed cameras and we had some fun there.
Advantages: You have the name at price Disadvantages: Not the acceleration for those boy racers!
...would love to drive the Maserati 3200GT.
Here is some information just generally about the car. It does between 12/20 mpg. For a car of its type I think that this is very reasonable and can think of many family saloons that this is not far from.
The car weights in at 3501 lbs. This is average for a car of its size and type. It enables it to stick to the road whilst giving the Twin-turbo V8 engine a light frame to soar down the road on. It works ... ...situated in the front of the car and is rear wheel drive. If I am to be honest I really wouldn't expect anything else from a car of its sort in this day and age. Now here are perhaps some more interesting facts. Boy racers read on!

The car covers 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds. This is outstandingly quick but believe you me it is quick enough for me. i have only got close to this speed of acceleration on the motorway on the way down to ...

Advantages: i want one Disadvantages: but i can't afford....
The Maserati 3200GT is my ultimate car. When my numbers come up on the lottery (why is it taking so long?), the first thing I'm going to do is grab one of these beauties. Ok, apparently Maserati used to be a bit dodgy in the eighties and early nineties, but then so was most of the cars to come out of the Fiat stable. A couple of years ago Ferrari took over the running of Maserati and re-kitted their factory specifically in readiness for production ... ...out for them on the roads ever since they were introduced and I've seen three in Sheffield where I live and one on the M1 (only briefly). So you get a big wedge of exclusivity with your supercar too. Maybe ciao could sort out a Maserati voucher scheme? ...

Advantages: tExtremely quick and attention grabing Disadvantages: Expensive and maybe not so good on build quality
...lucky enough to have a Maserati 3200GT outside. It's the same colour as the picture here and is 4 years old.
The car is actually on hire from a classic car club that I belong to, it goes back a week after I've had it with 2000 extra miles on.
So, what's it like. The looks are understated for a car of this type, it's obviously a bit special but it's not as ostentatious as a Ferrari for example. It's a very big car - about the same external size ... ...a little flat. Still the Maserati lettering across the back announces its pedigree.
I have been waiting to drive this car for nearly 6 months. It was the first car I booked from the club but I arranged it for a summer week so that I could enjoy some touring.
My first impression of driving the car is just how relaxed it is. It's an auto box and I understand this makes a difference but this car is as relaxed to drive as the Jag. You know you have ...

Car: Maserati 3200GT
For: Refined Italian chic and handling
Against: got to be rich to own one
Value: For what you get you cannot really complain. Everything is well finished and there is a high level of equipment in the car.
Costs: Surprisingly fuel economy is not that bad, however insurance is astronomical and the parts and servicing are much the same.
Reliability: Seems pretty good, perhaps not quite so delicate as some of its other Italian ... ...one of these very hard around the Mallory park race circuit and it was well up to the job. The steering is precise with plenty of feedback from the road. This serves to make a big car feel very light and nimble. The chassis and suspension are sublime and capable of dealing with anything that you throw at it making cornering a sheer pleasure. The levels of grip are unbelievable and if the car does step out of line then it is very easy to control. ...

Advantages: Great building, nice location, good pub across the road. Disadvantages: Don't part exchange Viva's, Maestro's, Marina's, and haven't heard of Lada.

Well, descriptions continue of all the colours, interiors equipments and so on. By now we were getting used to the minute gear levers with the paddles on the steering wheels, instruments angled towards the driver, sedate statements of luxury and drilled pedals.
Apart from all angles as above, there were also models of the 1990 Testarossa, the 1988 328 GTS, the 1998 348 Spider, really breathtaking !! My un-named girl friend took a particular interest in the 456 model, being a four seater, with a six speed gearbox, and a very elegant front engined car indeed.
I did notice however that there were no examples of the 550 model that I had previously road-tested for you.
We then progressed to the Maserati section :-
1. Maserati3200GT 370 BHP V8- 6 speed
There were many of these, ranging in price from £36,995 to £70 ...
