Detailed technical instruction for cross-country downhill mountain cross free riding dirt jumping and urban terrain from top pro mountain biker Brian Lopes.
Advantages: Strong Frame and Wheels, Tyres do not let go Disadvantages: None really!!
Bought this bike with my work cycle to work scheme.
A great buy from Halfords.
Excellent speck for the price and a very strong bike. I'm 18st 10 (253 ibs) and in my opinion this bike can handle this weight easily.
Great colour Black with like a Pearlesent White, Very good speck components, Shimano Deore derauillers and Sram Truvatic Crank.
Hydrolic Brakes and Discs. These will stop you instantly and do tare a little time to get used to or a flight over the bars could come along. These sqeak when covered in Muck and Water for the first few occasions, but when used this disapates.
Wheels are Alex DP17 rims, Strong, Maxxis Ingnitor Tyres Grip like hell.
Suntour XCR forks are ok for Cross Country riding, Not a great Jump fork, but hey Im no Jumper! (I think that if yoiu are lighter than me you could have some safe landings with these ...
Advantages: Aluminium Frame, Good gear set, looks ace! Disadvantages: no rear suspension
This bike has got fantastic geometry and is therefor a very comfortable ride. The tripple triange frame is very solid and the bike goes where you point it. When i bought the bike it came with 27 gears, cable disc brakes,(which will soon be upgraded), and some decent shocks. So far i love it!!
the bike looks ace too. What a visually pleaseing piece of design.
Great bike to upgrade. Starting components are reasonable as u get what u pay for, in this case a great frame and some slightly shady parts. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the components if u r an occasional MTBer but if u go offroad lots you'll need stronger components which can handle rougher stuff than the RST's it comes with as standard. ...
Advantages: Solid frame, very good brakes and smooth gears. Disadvantages: Tyres are too chunky for road riding, if thats what your into.
This bike is ideal for anybody looking to do any sort of offroading. It is well equipped with tektro auriga hydraulic disk brakes which are silky smooth and have plenty of braking power. The great thing about the GT is that it has a lock-out on the forks which makes riding on roads a bit easier. I find this useful as i commute on it. I chose a mountainbike because i prefered the riding position and the fact i can take it off-road if i so choose. The tyres that come on the bike are chunky enough for off roading but for road riding they have a fair bit of rolling resistance, i swapped mine over for a set of semi-slicks for road riding. This bike is well worth buying and i would reccomend it to anybody. ...
