"He-Man....How Your Vex Me!"
Advantages Great articulation, excellent paint job
Disadvantages Not as sinister as 2002 version
For all those who grew up during the 1980s or at least reminisced through old re-runs, the Masters of the Universe series is one of fond memories and exciting circumstances. After several lines of action toys in 1983, 1985, 1990, and 2002, the new Skeletor Classics figure truly outdoes them all.
Unlike the 2002 model, this Skeletor is designed in the original form, so fans will remember the purple-blue tandem from the 1980s series from the base of the demon-like hooves to the purple cape and soulless yellow head. He also is eqcuipped with the classic goat staff and Eternia Sword, promising the inhabitants of Castle Grayskull a lot of strife. In terms of articulation, the designers did not skimp at all. With ball joints at the shoulders, elbows, and knees, as well as a rotational frame, the figure is well prepared for intense poses and rough play in the event that the owner is a younger fan. This is fantastic when compared to the 2002 figure, and that one was handicapped by no bending at the joints, while the 1983 version had similar limitations.
Possibly the lowest aspect to the figure would be the head and hood. With the construction of the neck, the hood seems rather restrictive, and the toy has no cape to cover the one discrepancy to an otherwise perfected paint job. The face itself is of the classic villain, not the darker figure of the most recent film series. So what are you waiting for? Pick up this gem and deal with He-Man, that "muscle bound moron!"
