Advantages cheap

Disadvantages handle could be a little tougher

Going to the seaside is brilliant fun and the British coasts are so underrated. Last summer we went to Scarborough and had plenty of fun on the beach making sandcastles and then dropping 2 pence pieces in the slot machines. My sister and I took my little niece who loved the beach and we spent a good few hours playing in the sand and then hunting for crabs. I go to Matalan on the odd occasion but always before the summer as they have a great summer collection of household items. I bought this bucket and goodies and a wonderful little picnic set. If you need anything like this for the summer, then you really need to go and visit this store.

==Price and availability==

The bucket and accessories costs £3.00 which is so cheap! If you bought a bucket and spade at the seaside you would be talking at least a fiver so this is great value for money.

==Description==

The bucket is very fun and designed specifically for making sandcastles. It is red plastic, quite thin but this is of the essence when making sandcastles as you need to be able to tap the sand out without breaking it. There is a yellow plastic handle at the sides that precariously takes the weight of the filled bucket. There were a few choices in regards to colour of the bucket but I could only see a red, yellow and blue one. Also in the set is a plastic spade which is perfect for small children, it will not allow you to dig to Australia but you will be able to dig a decent sized hole and carry sand to fill the bucket up. There is also a small rake so you can design the area around your castle.

Also in the set is a small watering can, this is most used when the paddling pool comes out and all the bits get played with in the water. It is small and cute and a nice little addition to the set. Also included is a crocodile shaped mould and a crab shaped one. These are fun to play with although the crocodile’s tail hardly ever came out right.

==Overall==

In terms of fun, this set offers it all and it is perfect for beach days or playing in the paddling pool. The castle is fun as when you fill it up and tap it out, it looks very castle like and as some very pronounced turrets that stand very tall and pronounced. It takes a decent amount of sand but it does get quite heavy for little ones to carry. The cost of the set remains the same this year and the set is back out for you to buy in their summer collection, although in this year’s selection in my local Leeds store, the watering can is missing and has been replaced by a bigger mould. I can’t help but think this is to cut costs down and keep the price at £3.00. I still think this is a good value item for the money and would recommend it.
