The foundation contains Colour Adapt Particles which adapt to your individual skin tones to give a flawless but perfectly natural looking base. It's supposed to even out your skin tone without masking it and blend away imperfections. It's also oil-free so suitable even for oily skin types.
It comes in a 34ml bottle with pump action dispenser and a pull-off lid. The lid fastens really tightly so it would be fine in a make-up bag. The pump-action dispenser is good in some ways but not in others. It's good because it's easier to use than a tube and less messy in my opinion, but it doesn't dispense just how much you need - the amount dispensed depends on how far down you press it, and if you press it right the way down you end up with about 3-4 times as much as you actually need, so in that respect I think the dispenser's quite badly designed.
The foundation is quite thin in texture, and feels really creamy and smooth. It glides easily over the skin and is easily blended with the fingers or a sponge. I usually use a foundation brush to apply foundation but for some reason I find it doesn't work with this one, I always end up with loads of visible brush strokes in it which are then very difficult to blend.
I agree that it adapts to your skin tone and looks very natural. It gives a very even look without getting that flat lifeless look that other foundations can give because they make all your face exactly the same colour. It feels nice on and it doesn't clog my pores or make my skin feel oily. It lasts all day without melting or fading, and it doesn't come off easily on to clothes.
The only problem I have with this foundation is that it sits in fine lines making them look really obvious, and this gets worse throughout the day. If it wasn't for this I would have said this foundation was practically perfect, and for anyone with young, line-free skin it probably would be great, but as I do have a fair few fine lines to contend with, this is not for me.
Recommended for those who don't have fine lines to contend with! Not recommended for those with fine lines!

Advantages: Great range of shades, Great coverage, Fair price, Suitable for most skin tones. Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
I usually have trouble finding foundations to match my very pale, cool tonedskin. Most foundations on the market today are a few shades darker with warmer, more yellow undertones. After a long day of stopping at every department store counter only to be told "I'm sorry, it doesn't look like we have a shade pale enough for you..." I decided to head to Boots and take a look there too. Rimmel's were all too orange, Revlon's didn't have the right coverage available and Maybelline irritates my skin. I almost gave up (again!) until I saw the MaxFactor display.
ColourAdapt is sold as 'skintoneadaptingmake-up' that is said to adapt to your individual skintone to provide a flawless look that it 'perfectly you.' Sounds promising - and the best part? The shade 40: Creamy Ivory was a *perfect* match for my skin and at only £11.95 for 34ml ...
Advantages: A flawless complexion Disadvantages: OOooh, a little pricey.
I was on my usual trawl around the freebie sites trying to bag what I could when I stumbled across www.maxfactor.co.uk who were promising free samples of their new skintoneadaptingmake-up, ColourAdapt. I registered to the site, joined the MaxFactor Club and ordered my free sample and waited for it to arrive through the post. I was quite surprised when it arrived only 2 weeks later. I didn't actually give the little foil pouch much thought and it floated around my bathroom for several days before I decided to try it out.
We had been invited to a wedding and I had to look perfect. I was having a disastrous morning and nothing seemed to be going right. My 4 year old daughter had been rummaging around in my make-up bag giving herself a 'make over' and my foundation and favourite lippy had disappeared (I found them the next day in ...
