I was on my usual trawl around the freebie sites trying to bag what I could when I stumbled across www.maxfactor.co.uk who were promising free samples of their new skin tone adapting make-up, Colour Adapt. I registered to the site, joined the Max Factor Club and ordered my free sample and waited for it to arrive through the post. I was quite surprised when it arrived only 2 weeks later. I didn't actually give the little foil pouch much thought and it floated around my bathroom for several days before I decided to try it out.
We had been invited to a wedding and I had to look perfect. I was having a disastrous morning and nothing seemed to be going right. My 4 year old daughter had been rummaging around in my make-up bag giving herself a 'make over' and my foundation and favourite lippy had disappeared (I found them the next day in her toy box !) So I panicked...... then I remembered the free sample somewhere in the bathroom !........
I tore open the small foil packet and squeezed out a generous blob of Max Factor Colour adapt and began to apply AAArrrggghHH far too much ! A tiny 5p sized amount is enough. I was still quite amazed though, the foundation was a liquid but as it was evenly applied to my face it felt as though the liquid had turned to powder. My skin looked amazing. I had a flawless complexion !! I really couldn't believe that a make up that claimed to be unique and revolutionary actually was !
Apparently this is all down to the unique colour adapting particles that adapts to your skin tone.As I read the fine print on the foil pack I discovered that my regular foundation contained a pigment that only reflected a single colour, so as I applied the colour adapt foundation it actually adapted to my skin tones across the different areas of my face to even it out and create this flawless finish. It blends away blemishes and really does give your face this healthy looking glow ! ( Even hubby has noticed, so it must be good !) I was so thrilled that I made the foil pack last for two applications ! I then decided that I must hunt out this miraculous wonder liquid that transforms into powder and buy it and soon ! I didn't want to remove it that night but it was so easy it just seemed to glide away like magic.
A couple of days later when I tracked it down I let out a small shriek when I discovered that it was £11.95 ! It seemed like alot of money I grudgingly parted with my cash and left the shop with little 34ml pump dispenser of colour adapt. The shades varied from cream ivory to bronze I opted for natural ( same shade as the free sample) The packaging bears the infamous Max Factor logo in dark blue lettering on tasteful gold and white. Slightly dubious of the pump action as I have doubts as to whether I am going to be able to empty the dispenser of every last scrap of make up ( I'm tight I know !) I think that this bottle will probably last some time as it should be used sparingly so it doesn't work out as being all that expensive really.
The ingredients are far too long to type but who cares what your slapping on your face if it produces results like this ? (within reason obviously !) Max Factor has got to be one of the most well known brands of make up around today and is tried and trusted by women all over the world and one more has joined the list, me ! and I intend to stay there and remain a member of the Max Factor Club !

I use this too (in the same colour as well) and I agree, it's wonderful. Just occasionally, I slap on a bit of other foundation (I have about 3 others I alternative with, and they're all more expensive than this) but I am always disappointed. I like the velvety feel of this foundation. All others I've tried now feel gloopy or oily in comparison. Lou x

Good op! I currently use Marks & Spencers Mien foundation, it's only £6 a bottle and is made by the same people who make Clinique - I'd easily say it's the best I've ever used! Sarah x
