Ello Chickens, I'd like to introduce you to the new magic formula provided by Max Factor International, that inspirational cosmetics house which, as we all know from the commercials, provides the make up of make up artists.
It's been a while since I wrote you gorgeous lovelies a review so please forgive me (yet rate accordingly) if this offering is below par. I don't mean to waste your time, yet I am getting rather excited and may veer off into insipid rambling.
Anyway, I have it here in my hand and on my face. And it promises me beauty, the likes of which I have never yet faced. I am all of a flutter.
Yes it seems that my other foundation, also supplied by Mr Factor is unsatisfactory, and has been furnishing me not with flawless healthy looking skin, but a mask! Eurgh! No wonder I am entirely friendless and children run from me wide eyed and shaking.
Luckily now I can rejoin humanity.
Except, and this is hard to type so I am typing very softly and you must read it in a similar manner, except, I think I might need the mask. there I've said it. Well, typed. But hey.
See the consistency of the fluid is even and soft on application ( if a little greasy) but it is a little THIN. It is rather more difficult than I'd like to slather this stuff on. Trowelling is not an option here. In fact layering it on in a rather professional manner (if I do say so myself) often results in STREAKING. Shocking stuff I'm sure you'll agree. It smells nice and it feels nice on, but there's rather too much not covered by it. Max factor themselves give its coeverage a rating of 'good', which sounds, well, good until you notice that most of its other foundations have been awarded 'great'.
It's also quite pricey. I got it on special at £8.99, but I've seen it more commonly priced at £10.99 which is steep for mid-range. Might as well bite the bullet and go glam with Estee Lauder or Clinique if you ask me.
The bottle's quite a nice design wth the oh-so-modern pump action provided which is nice, but means that I've lost the top and when I throw it in my bag there are accidents. Also when it gets to the end of the bottom there is the possibility of wastage, which like all right thinking people, I loathe.
The colours provided are actually pretty close to perfect. There does seem to be some magic adapting technology working, and my face can look its natural pallor without the yellow tinge proffered by so many other formulas. So in this respect it is a really good effective product. it doesn't claim to cover everything and, well, it doesn't. But if you have lovely skin apart from a little discolouration or patching, maybe a little redness on the nose, then this will do the trick just lovely.
If however your face needs a little extra help than that, then I'm afraid you would be wasting your money on this. This product is really for improving good skin, not curing bad.
