Advantages: easy application, doesn't clump Disadvantages: not waterproof, expensive
I used to use Max Factor Classic mascara, and when it ran out I decided to give Max Factor Lash Lift a try, as I'm one of these people who likes to try every product going!
~Packaging~
This comes in a navy blue tube, with a gold lid and gold writing. The lid is slightly wider than the actual tube and has a shiny gold diamond shape imprinted into it. I don't know if this was intended to aid grip of the brush handle, but ... ...standard sticker on the top of the brush, which shows the colour of the mascara - in this case I bought black.
~Brush~
There seems to be a tendency to have all sorts of different brush designs - be it curved brushes, or even combs, but this mascara has a pretty standard brush. It is tapered at the tip, which is useful as it allows you to get into the corner lashes, without smudging onto the eyelids.

~My Experience~
The mascara itself is a very nice consistency, not too watery as some of the cheaper mascaras can tend to be, or not so thick that it is difficult to apply. The mascara is a good strong colour, and does look very dark on the lashes, as I've found with some their 'black' is more of a grey colour.
The mascara is called Lash Lift, and I find that it does actually give lashes some lift, although works better if you use eyelash curlers. It also adds volume, but without giving that 'stuck together' look, and generally isn't clumpy. I have found though, the more coats you use the clumpier it looks, however this is probably not just applicable to this particular mascara.
The tube contains 9ml, which doesn't sound much but is pretty average for a mascara. I've had this one for a couple of months now, and still have plenty left.
There is a note on the tube, which states this is suitable for contact lens wearers. I wear contacts and have never experienced any problems when wearing this.
Overall, I have been very impressed with this mascara. It's simple to use - no messing about with 2 separate steps, it rarely clumps, and it gives my lashes a natural look. I would definitely recommend this one.
~Price~
This costs £8.49 from Boots. I actually bought it with a £5 money off coupon, but I still think it's worth the price, especially if you wear mascara regularly.
~Other info~
There are 3 different shades in the Lash Lift range, which are Black, Black/Brown and Navy. There is also a waterproof version available.
Advantages: make your eyelashes dark Disadvantages: clumps form and leaves you looking like a panda
I saw this in the adverts on t.v, so i decided to buy it because it looked so good.
On the first swipe over my lashes, I thought I was successful. I didn't experience the clumps, however, on the second swipe, my lashes had instant 'build-up' in an unattractive way. The product dried quickly, and I couldn't separate my lashes with the brush. Clumps quickly developed. Another thing that disappointed me was the flaking. As I continued on through my ... ...start over) I noticed my contacts started to bother me more than usual. When I checked out the situation in the mirror, I noticed I had black flakes in my eyes. That was it. I thought that this mascara wasn't working.
Soap didn't make it go, or make up remover. This mascara made my eyes go like a pandas.
i only got this mascara because of the packaging, Don'T waste your money on this! ...

Advantages: Works well the first few times Disadvantages: Clumpy, smudges easily, crusty, dries too quickly.
Personally, the first few uses of this mascara greatly emphasised my lashes and gave me the result that I wanted - longer lashes and a more 'wide-eyed' look. However, soon the mascara began to get rather clumpy, crusty and dried much to quickly which made my eyelashes look stuck together rather than separated and elongated. Due to the size of the brush it was also difficult to apply mascara to my lower lashes without smudging and smearing along the ... ...like a panda, but was an absolute nightmare to clean off. I also found that most of the mascara would stick to the tip of the brush which was really inconvienient as the tip is ideal for reaching those lashes leading towards the nose and this build-up would make it difficult to apply mascara to these lashes without smudging and smearing my look again! All in all, i'd say that this mascara was definitely not all that the adverts had cracked it up ...

Advantages: Doesn't clag. Disadvantages: Doesn't give the promised 400% more volume that it promises!
' on the eyelashes, given the price of it and the fact that it doesn't give me the promised '400% volume' I'm more than happy to try a different brand.
As for removing the mascara, it isn't too troublesome to remove and doesn't leave a nasty panda-eyed look for the morning after the night before!!

Advantages: intense colour, volume, no clumping Disadvantages: none
MaxFactor mascaras are the best around in my opinion. I started off using their Classis Stretch mascara a few years ago, then moved on to LashLift, but then they brought out MaxFactor Masterpiece. I was in love. I still am. It's by far the best mascara I have ever tried, and it seems that I wasn't the only one with that opinion. Even now, I still read rave reviews in magazines, and see make-up artists recommending it on TV. It is rare I will stick with one product (just look at how many Beauty reviews I do, and you will see I like to try new products all the time), but I've been using MaxFactor Masterpiece for a very long time. Even so, when they brought out MaxFactor Masterpiece Max, I was reluctant to try it. I find many brands ride on the back of the success of one product, and use it's names to promote new ones. Take Boots No.7 ...
Advantages: Lovely long lashes Disadvantages: Packaging too large, runs when wet
colours, I bought the black as I dont like brown mascaras.
APPLICATION
The difference with this mascara is the new design of brush supposed to liftlashes to make them look longer. Its quite similar to the MaxFactor 'masterpiece' mascara brush in that it has more flexible plastic bristles. The wand is quite secure in the tube, its actually fairly tough to get out compared to other mascaras.
I personally like fairly long but natural lashes at day and then more dramatic lashes at night. I find this mascara is suitable for both uses. It does exactly what it claims to do, lifts the lashes making them look long but not overly fake if you only apply one coat. You end up with the most wonderful doll lashes which open up the eyes making them look sparkly even if you've had no sleep at all. With one more coat the effect is much heavier ...
