I have an oily t-zone and am quite prone to the really painful spot, you know the type (ow, ow, I feel like an alien is trying to escape from under my skin, call the FBI and so on)! As I write this I am trying to discourage the image coming into your head, of the writer of this report having a face that you can shine your boots with as it is so greasy and a face like a pizza! No please, don't think that about me, think I have a face you could shine twenty pairs of boots and a face like a monster, that would please me much better, ha! Well, anyway being serious, we all know that no-one really likes to admit to having spots, but we all know that we get them. And why is it that spots always appear when you're meeting someone new, and you want to create a really good impression? We all know the pain and discomfort of having a spot, so we can definitely live without the embarrassing appearance of them.
If this sounds familiar, this foundation is perfect as it lasts all day and gives excellent coverage. It is not thick, it does not give you a tide mark on your face and you do not need extra concealer.
To prove the above I have written a days account of how many times I had to re-apply:
11.30 am - Ok, ok, I know I'm getting up late but I had a long night last night. Too much alcohol, not enough sleep. I have a killer headache and surprise, surprise I have a spot that looks like an alien is going to emerge from my face. Aaaaaaargh! After a long shower to arouse me from this catatonic state, I decide to apply my make-up. One easy application (applied with clean fingers does it) and my face is looking as clear and radiant as ever. No signs of the monster on my face.
2.30 Face starts to look a tad shiny but my make-up has stayed in place, a quick powder sorts it out in 3 seconds.
3.30 My best friend comes around and says she doesn't understand how good I look after the night we had last night.
So you get the picture. A myth about make-up is that it causes spots, which is untrue, although I accept it does when kept on overnight. I am a beauty therapist and I actually often recommend wearing a foundation because it acts as a barrier on the skins surface, helping it to hold in moisture while protecting it from outside pollutants and harsh weather.
So what am I putting on my face I hear you ask! Well, I always feel that it is important to know what you are putting on your skin. I will now explain, the creamy pink fluid is basically colour pigment derived from the titanium dioxide you find in this foundation, a natural wax such as beeswax which acts as an emulsifier, and a form of cellulose to thicken the mixture and help it adhere to your skin.
I use this foundation in fair, it is around £9.49 for 35 ml, but it lasts a long time and it resists touching off onto you or your clothes.
This foundation lasts me around 12 weeks and when I can no longer squeeze any more out, I cut the bottle to get the remainder out. I have tried so many foundations and I have never found such a good one as this. It is not highly perfumed and does not bleed into all your pores. Also, although this foundation is good for oily skins an added bonus is that it leaves the skin lovely and soft. Max Factor Lasting Performance comes in a wide range of colours, ranging from very pale to very dark. I have very pale skin and blonde hair, so I use ‘fair'.
Lastly, you must remember that once you have the right foundation, you can build on that to attain maximum beauty!

Advantages: Quick and easy to apply, Transparent tube, Lasts all day, Doesn't rub off onto clothes and still removes easily with cream Disadvantages: None
Advantages: It is very adaptable and provides reasonable coverage without feeling heavy. Disadvantages: the choice of colours isn't huge so colours may need to be blended to match.
