Max Factor's 'Lasting Performance' no. 105 is out of the drawer and back on the shelf, revelling in all its 'soft beige' glory. Being fair haired and fair complexioned I believe this shade suits me best as the 'Fair' shade is too light and ghostly. In summer I switch to no. 109 'Natural Bronze'. There are six colour variations to choose from in easy to identify transparent tubes. This make-up base really does last all day on my face without smudging off onto clothes and still removes easily with cream. It evens up skin imperfections to create a flawless finish and is non-greasy, light and easy to apply as unlike previous foundations I use my fingertips instead of bothering with a damp sponge. Having an oily complexion probably helps though. The colour blends well without streaking and has a pleasant aroma. At a cost of £9.50 for a 35ml screw-top tube, or £2.71 per 10ml pastelle, it's a competitively priced product considering the noticeably beneficial results.

Advantages: It is very adaptable and provides reasonable coverage without feeling heavy. Disadvantages: the choice of colours isn't huge so colours may need to be blended to match.
