I do try with make up you know. I regularly apply it on those mornings when I manage to drag myself out of bed more than twenty minutes before I have to leave the house. Okay, so that means maybe once a week, but it’s all relative here, all relative. Unfortunately I’m one of those people who will apply make up and half an hour later the foundation has melted off my face, the lipstick has worn away leaving only a scrap of mascara left intact. Hardly makes for all day gorgeousness does it? This is mainly because I don’t reapply, I cant be arsed with it, popping off to the toilet every hour to touch up. Waste of time and effort I say.

So what I really need is a foundation and lipstick that will stay put and wont budge for the whole day. A number of products claim to be able to do this, in the majority they are telling porkies but there is one product out there that really does what the manufacturers say it will. It stays put, all day long.

Lipfinity, by Max factor, is paint for lips. Sounds rather scary when you put it like that doesn’t it? Well don’t worry it isn't scary.

It comes in a pale gold box that looks very classy and contains too bottles the lip paint and the moisturising topcoat.

The lip paint has a clear section where the colour is kept and a long golden applicator wand for, well applying. It looks rather stylish too. The applicator is a soft pad style thingy (I don’t know what the technical name is, does anyone know that?) I haven’t found there to be much of a problem with overloading, a quick wipe on the rim of the bottle usually ensures that the right amount of lip colour is on the pad when used.

On application you apply a thin coating of colour to your lips and wait for it to dry. It is quite important at this stage that you keep a steady hand. While my small mistake have not meant much of a problem cleaning up a large mistake will probably mean you’ll have to remove the lots and start again, remember, this stuff stays put.

As it dries I tend to find my lips get very sticky and I can feel them drying out. In fact the biggest draw back with this product is the mad drying effect it has on your lips. This is the reason they also supply the moisturising topcoat.

The topcoat is a tube the same size and shape as the lip colour bottle except it’s all white. Inside a twist action produces a stick of white moisturisers, this is basically glorified lip salve. I have a stick of Nivea that is very similar. It is however rather good and I find that it keeps my lips nice and soft, counteracting the drying effect of the colour, for a good amount of time. During the day I fond that I will apply this about three or four times.

Another one of this products failings is the limited amount of colours available. The choice extends to around 16 shades and most of those are quite strong. As I require a lipstick for daywear I chose ‘Iced Glacee’ which is a fairly neutral ‘just makes the lips look fuller’ shade. I was disappointed to find though that the colour wasn’t as pale as the sticker on the box, in fact on checking other shade I found that the sticker could not be trusted at all but I do like the colour. For all out glamour the shades are quite good, I plan on getting a stronger shade myself, when I have a bit of cash, for going out.

So, with its limited shades and drying effect you want to know if the claims it makes are really worth it. Well in order to show you I have made a little list of what my lippy had to stand up to yesterday:

8:15am – Apply lipstick
8:20am – remember to brush teeth
8:30am – Peanut butter toastie eaten in car on way to work.
11:00am – Apple
1:00pm – Tomato soup, roll & yoghurt
3:pm – Banana
7:00pm – Chicken curry, rice & pita bread
Throughout the day lots of tea, water and in the evening loving kisses from him indoors.

And when I went to have a wash before I went to bed the lipstick was still there and it still looked good. I hadn’t reapplies once.

Isn’t that impressive? I rather think so. You can’t argue will results.

The leaflet tells you to use an oil based make up remover to get rid if it. I have found that just giving it a good scrub with soap and a flannel cleans it off quite nicely.

So to sum up:

Bad points:

Dries your lips out
Limited shades
Costs £9.99 (at boots)
Can be difficult to remove if you make a mistake

Good points:

Stays put all day
The moisturiser does its job well
£9.99 isn’t that expensive really
A good scrub with a flannel will get rid of it.

For staying power this stuff is fantastic, I cant see me even bothering with another lippy unless the shade really, really grabs me. For all us girls who cant be bothered to reapply every five minutes this stuff is a godsend.
