Advantages: The eyeshadow really does last all day, without creasing! Disadvantages: The applicator is a bit weird for me, it's impossible to use it to blend the shadow in.

On a weekend this is a different story but I have too many eye shadows to justify buying anymore. At the end of the day I looked in the mirror expecting the eyeshadow to have gone into the creases of my eyelids or appear smeared... however I was extremely surprised and pleased to see it still looked as if I had just applied it. After seeing the adverts for this new eyeshadow from Max Factor on the TV, I wanted to try one of them out! However I don't use eyeshadow that much really as I'm usually rushing around on a morning before work so just wack a bit mascara on and that's my eye make-up done! On a weekend this is a different story but I have too many eye shadows to justify buying anymore. Luckily however, this was offered to me free through the Amazon Vine programme in the 'coffee' shade, which as the name suggests is a dark brown colour, so I decided to grab it while I could.
This eyeshadow is packaged in the way many lip glosses are, a long see-through tube and the applicator is that spongey one you often find on lip products. However this is almost certainly for your eyes! The packaging states 'long lasting colour' and offers 'precise application.' Well... we'll come back to that one.
I was a bit concerned this might be a bit too dark for my pale skin and 'sparkling blue eyes' (yes I'm very modest, but I do love my eyes!), however I didn't need to worry as the shade wasn't so bad once it was on and blended in.
It felt weird applying this eye shadow using a lip-gloss style applicator, and I smoothed it onto my eyelids easily. This is where my only problem begins. The applicator is a big spongry brush... and considering this is a dark brown colour it's hardly suitable for smoothing all over my eyes, and it was extremely hard to blend in for a flawless finish.
I had to place the brush away and smooth and blend the eyeshadow across the folds of my eyelids using my finger... this worked great, but now I have eyeshadow all over my finger, meaning a dash to the bathroom sink. This is my only problem with this eyeshadow, if I had a spare eyeshadow brush lying around I would use that to blend it in, but my eyeshadow brush is strictly for powder eyeshadows, and this one is more of a liquid which might spoil my brush.
Once applied I finished off the look nicely with the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara (also free thanks to Amazon Vine!) and voila, gorgeous eyes!
At the end of the day I looked in the mirror expecting the eyeshadow to have gone into the creases of my eyelids or appear smeared... however I was extremely surprised and pleased to see it still looked as if I had just applied it. The colour was just as strong and it hadn't disappeared into the creases, and this is a huge bonus when choosing an eyeshadow these days, many people using eyeshadow primer's to avoid the creasing effect. There's no need for a primer with this eyeshadow though!
