Max Payne (Xbox Classics)

Max Payne (Xbox Classics)

Max Payne's wife and baby daughter were slain by junkies hopped up on a dangerous new ... more

synthetic drug. For three years, Max has worked
undercover to find the source of these drugs and
then, just when he's almost got it figured out,
somebody ices his superior and pins the murder on
him. Now, it's payback time as Max faces off
against the Mob, the police and much, much worse.
Max Payne has jumped from the computer screen to
the TV screen, and there's going to be hell to
pay. Max Payne uses extremely realistic graphics
to showcase a gritty film-noir inspired New York
City. Payne stalks subways, tenements, nightclubs
and even government installations as he takes his
vengeance out on a horde of gun-toting bad guys.
Taking a page from the visual style of famed
director John Woo, as well as The Matrix, Max
Payne lets the player launch into a slow motion
mode generally known as "Bullet Time", which makes
dodging enemy fire and dishing out your own return
fire a breeze, all while leaping side to side.
While this looks extremely cool to do, it also
evens the odds and can only be used for limited
amounts of time, making it a strategic as well as
aesthetic option.  And speaking of aesthetics, the
game is packed with exciting moments, weapons and
locations, even if the enemies get a little
redundant after a while. The level design ranges
from inspired (a multi-level parking garage) to
humdrum (a warehouse) and several levels actually
take places in the twisted wonderland of the
hero's warped psyche. The introduction scenes are
painted photos presented graphic novel style,
which is a stylistic choice that pays dividends,
even if the writing is hilariously bad and the
voice acting is, if possible, even worse.--James

"...India). This game is called MAX PAYNE. Max Payne was a game developed by Remedy and produced by 3Drealms who gave us the legendary game ’’Duke Nukem’’. Word is that Duke Nukem Forever should be released by next year. With the revolutionary ’’ BULLET TIME Max Payne is probably the most graphically excellent game ever created. You cannot but remember the movie ’’Matrix’’ when you play this ..." Read review

youll be hooked from payne

AdvantagesBullet Time, Graphics, Sound, Story, Gameplay

DisadvantagesShort

"...will be happy to see Max Payne finally released after a long wait for the game to be finished. Max Payne is a 3rd Person shooter which looks like its been inspired by John Woo movies, or parts of the Matrix because it’s rife with gunplay which is highly associated with these movies. The game isn’t a long one to tell you the truth, neither does it have any multiplayer capabilities, but it’s the originality which will keep you playing this game for ..." Read review

REALLY...I HAVE NO WORDS TO ADMIRE IT.

AdvantagesINTRESTING, AMAZING AND MUCH MORE

DisadvantagesWastage of time

"...of them find equal to Max Payne. In those I used to play GTA vice city and I was enjoy it so much also I was happy with it and I spend 2 or 3 hours in playing GTA. But one day I make end this game and there was no next level. So I began to bore because I had not any other 3D game. After this I buy many games but some of them were corrupted and mostly need 3D card for plying them. I have a younger friend near living near my home, one day while discussing ..." Read review

I released my finger from the trigger

AdvantagesSuperb Graphics, Superb Sound, Bullet Time

DisadvantagesBit short, Need a fast computer

"The game starts with Max Payne standing on top of a skyscraper holding a large gun and a voice over by the man informing us his job was down and he could release his finger from the trigger just as hundreds of police, along with their cars and helicopters, swarm the building to arrest him. The game then shifts back to 3 years ago when Max was a young NYPD cop who arrived home to find his wife and child brutally murdered by a gang of junkies high on ..." Read review

Max Payne The Original

AdvantagesGraphics, pure action, sound and music

DisadvantagesWell bad A.I. at times

"Max Payne by Remedy and 3d Realms the blockbuster hit, that ushered another era of gaming, the antihero crime fighter, and another era of violent gaming, where the "gun does the talking". Though the game is over four years old, the impact the game has made is felt even today. Max Payne is an action/adventure third person game that pretty much has it all, violence, mystery and suspense. It's not a game that can be described in one sentence, because ..." Read review
