Why do I use Maxell MF2HD's?, quite simple really the relaibility of floppy disks is quite high irrespective of who manufactures them as they are a proven technology.
At the end of the day it is down to which variety your employer stocks and most of mine have stocked these ones. You can pick up a packet for around about 2 quid, less if you buy in bulk from an office supplier.
-- Preamble or Introduction if you want to call it that -- For those of you old enough to remember the early days of presonal computing. You will remember farting about with 5.25 inch disks which got crumpled and were notoriously unreliable. I first used them on a BBC micro way back in 1985, when I sold out and did a YTS (Youth Training (exploitation) Scheme). When i Bought an Amiga 600 it came with 3.5 inch floppy disk drive inbuilt, and the results were revolutionary to me anyway. To call them floppy was a bit of a misrepresentation as they were not floppy at all, this had the advantage that they did not crumple and if looked after properly they would not crumple like the old ones.

This does not sound much but when lifting text files of data off machines on a Factory floor the amount of data that can be stored on them is quite large. They also have the advantage that you can easily wipe the data once you have finished with it and use the disk again. Rewriteable CD drives are not common place on shop floors and are not likley to be.

-- End Game --
The demise of the 1.44MB floppy is still a long way off. Even though the amount of data storage they can store is limited and the fact that most computers controling machines on factory floors are connected to local area networks. the reason the floppy is still surviving is reliability, and that people trust them as a storage media. I have never had any problems with loosing data on a Maxell MF2HD floppy disk and that is the most important factor in choosing them next to the fact that I can get them for free from stores.
