We trapsed around Toys'R'Us and Mothercare and prices were similar, but Mothercare had one on the shelf and a very willing salesperson offered for us to try it in the car. Having looked at what was on offer, we opted for this front facing style of car seat that is suitable from 9kg/20lbs and nine months of age. Still hadn't decided what brand or colour, although I rather liked the red one, I think it was called Enzo, not 100% sure though!

Luckily it fit in our car first time, we also both have the same make of car so we knew it would fit in both anyway. We sat Megan in, once the lady had showed us how to fit it, and Megan snuggled up to it straightaway! A winner!
As I said, I had initially favoured the red one, daddy said she couldn't have a pink one! How mean! But once this one was in the car, we both agreed this was the better choice, plus when we got in the shop, it was reduced as well. Happy campers all round.
The seat is really easy to fit, and will easily fit either side of the car. To test the safety and secureness is simple and great as you have confidence in the seat. The cover itself comes off and is machine washable, which is great, especially handy for those traffic jams when the rusks come out to pacify her! It has handy hooks on either side, so when you unstrap her you can tuck the straps into the hooks and there's no more trying to find the straps in the dark. The straps loosen really easily (for the adult only!) and then retract as far as you want them to. The seat is a four position, so she can sit fully upright, tilting slightly until a comfortable recline position.
Brilliant value, Comfy for sleeping. Megan says buy one for your baby!
Advantages: good allrounder. Disadvantages: less padded than some, lack of head support.
...a head pad available from maxi cosi but it can only be used when the harness is in the lowest position.
when adjusting the harness hieght i found it was rather fiddly task. it took me about 10-15 mins to remove then rethread the harness. i would say this is a good all round seat. light enough to transfer between cars quickly and easily but still feel safe a solid when installed. i would recomend this seat to a friend however i would advice them ...
