I bought this one week at Tesco for under £40 so thought 160Gb forvthat price couldn't be bad. we just wanted to back up our photos and music and free a bit of space on our computer.
I am not a computer wizz and things have to be reasonably simple. This is SO SIMPLE. Very basic small box-like drive which is also very light so easy to transport around if you want to. it comes with one lead with two USB ports at one end to go into the ... ...the hard drive.
You connect all the points to the correct places and then it boots itself in and installs without any further ado. No expertise required at all. Any idiot could do it.
After that just copy files over or open documents and save to the hard drive which comes up like any other memory stick when you click where you want to "save as". It really couldn't be simpler.

Features, It states that it is : Robust shock-proof design USB powered High speed 5400 RPM Easy to use- simply plug in USB cable 3 year limited warranty
System compatibilty: Works with Windows Vista, Windows XP or Mac OS X10.4.8 or higher USB 2.0 or 1.1 ports
The pack includes: External portable hard drive Quick start guide USB V -cable
It comes in a plastic - almost impossible to get into without cutting it - sealed pack and that's about it. It took some clever work with scissors and a knife at some risk of damaging myself in order to get it out of the packing.
It does what it says on the pack VERY SIMPLE basic external hard drive that is small and light and extremely easy to use. A bit like a bigger memory stick really.
Obviously I've only had it 3 months now so haven't tested the warranty but so far so good.
Advantages: Easy To use, Good Durable design Disadvantages: Not as advertised. bad manual and manufacturer support
I have fallen in love with my hard drive, it was a good buy, but if i could have tried it first i would have, it did have a few downsides. since im a multi OS user i need it to fun it FAT32 format. after plugging it in and putting my stuff onto it i noticed that it was NTSC this was a pain and because its low power its transfer speed is not hugely fast. after reformatting and putting all my stuff back on it now works on both operating systems. creating ... ...another downside is that it was advertised at 160GB but when fully formatted it only have 149GB although this is still a huge amount for the price you pay it should be advertised, at highest 150GB The shell is very nice and textures and will take most shocks you can throw at it, it does scratch badly, after having mine thrown about in my bag for a term it has turned very scratchy, but to be honest its purpose is to store files and be portable, not ...

Advantages: inexpensive, easy to use and very portable Disadvantages: less storage space available than advertised in the specs
I bought one of these drives yesterday at Tesco - £39.97 - what a bargain, in the big electrical stores its well over 50 quid...
However, when I plugged it in and tried it out I discovered that it reads as a 149GB drive. Thinking that meant it was faulty, I returned it to the store and made an exchange (that was painless, so kudos to Tesco!). The thing is, the new one reads as the exact same 149GB! So whats that all about? I'd be interested in the ... ...a duff batch or are there technicals reasons for it reporting less than 160Gb when connected...
With regard to the rest of the other guy's review, I agree completely - it is dead easy to use, small and lightwieght. Quite cute actually - if electronics can be cute!
Hell, at that price 149GB increases my storage so much that the missing 11GB isn't such a big issue for me... but it does make me wonder about the reality of advertised specs vs. real ...
