...coffee I have actually preferred Maxwell House. It seems milder to my uneducated palate? So when I spied these Cappuccinos sachets, “Hurray Kazzie has mentioned the product she is writing about!!” on the shelf I thought I would give them a go. They cost me a little over £1.30 for a box of six sachets and a small (magnifying glass not included!) sachet of Terry’s chocolate to sprinkle. Yummmm.
So that’s about ... ...it easily this time! Sorry op not quite over!!
What I mean is that you get six sachets each containing enough mixture to make a large mugful of instant Cappucino. I won’t bore you with all the contents; they surely speak for themselves in that there is skimmed milk powder, instant coffee and sugar amongst a host of other ingredients. It is quite sweet as it is but I add a sweetener to it as well, just personal preference. more
I’m not a coffee drinker really. I prefer a good old cup of tea to get me going of a morning, but just every now and then I do fancy a cup of coffee for a change, mainly on the odd occasion when I have been out for a nice meal. There is nothing nicer than a small cup of coffee to finish the evening off a treat. Well that part of it anyway, ahem! :o)
I would love to have been born with a coffee drinkers palate. I would love to go into a trendy coffee bar and order something exotic or American sounding and not risk ending up with a vile tasting concoction through my own ignorance! “I’ll have a mug of tea mate” in a roadside café doesn’t smack of quite the same class, does it? Sigh!
So imagine if you will my excitement upon discovering that McDonalds were now offering Latte or Espresso “to go”! Some Saturday mornings my youngest son and I partake in brekkie at the above establishment. On these occasions I usually settle for a coffee and the screwed up, put- back-together-in-the-wrong order free newspaper, while he demolishes a bacon roll or two!
We decided to go through the drive in one Saturday and park up opposite the local park to watch the ducks. I asked the square box with the grille for the usual, adding “Oh and a regular Latte please” in my bestest most official ‘all-knowing’ voice. I know, I am sooo sad!! Paid for it at the first window and headed for the second window to collect. This is where it all went horribly wrong and all pretence at being ‘cool’ disappeared forever!
Well the girl thought I had hold of the flimsy grey cup carrier and I thought she did, and we both let go at the same time! Only not only did I drop it but managed, in my efforts to save it, to hurl it several feet into the air and watched it cascade over the bonnet of my car in a spectacular fountain of froth and steam! Thank goodness I hadn’t bought the Testarosa out that day!!!
So where does this all link up with the op in question I hear you all wondering, as you so often must do with my ops! Come now you haven’t heard from me in well over a week now so you must permit me a little waffling!! Well it very nicely leads to the fact that I enjoyed the replacement Latte I was given and decided that I would try and find something similar for me to enjoy at home from time to time.

So that’s about it really! Ha you thought you were getting away with it easily this time! Sorry op not quite over!!
What I mean is that you get six sachets each containing enough mixture to make a large mugful of instant Cappucino. The easy to follow instructions, complete with diagrams in case you think to make your coffee in a washing up bowl instead of a mug, are there too! Don’t use boiling water either. Someone once told me that ‘coffee boiled is coffee spoiled’ I don’t appreciate good coffee enough to comment on that. And anyway I always add milk before water when I make coffee.
It does froth up very nicely I have to say, more so if you use a tall mug rather that a wide “Friends” style one, as I first did, going through my ‘faux sophistication’ phase again! The froth stays around longer in a tall mug, and the sprinkled on Terry’s (Its not Terry’s, it’s mine!) chocolate lasts longer this way too! As I mentioned earlier the sachet is a little on the scant side, it lasted me three mugfuls!! I purchased some Cadburys Sprinkles at the same time too, in a HUGE tub:o)!
It’s not at all bitter and not too strong either, which suits an unseasoned coffee drinker like me down to the ground. If you prefer stronger coffee then I guess you wouldn’t be going for Cappuccino in the first place, preferring an Espresso? There are 52 calories per large mug, which I don’t think is too unreasonable at all for slimmers. Yes I know that the chocolate sprinkles would bump the calorific intake up a bit, depending on how much you ‘sprinkle’..ouch!
I take one sachet of this to work a day. Along with my breakfast bar, sachet of cup-a-soup and a sandwich and I find that keeps me going until 16.00 hours when I have a bowl of cereal to tide me over to dinner time at about 19.00 hours.
Heck I have just given the ‘a la Kazzie’ diet regime away! Oh well it is working for me, as along with this and slogging it out at the gym three times a week I have lost over 2 stone since the beginning of September! Mind you I am working very hard at it, and determinedly so. Little treats like this coffee (with the sprinkles!) help to make me feel less deprived!
I will still stick to tea as my preferred start to the day drink and the first cup at work, but I am pleased that I have found a tasty alternative, as one can have too much of a good thing…..sometimes!!

Advantages: Gives you that genuine Italian coffee-shop experience Disadvantages: You're not really in Italy!
...kind of time or money, Maxwell House Instant Cappuccino may be the closest you’ll get. For now, at least.
Of course, I myself have never actually been to Italy, let alone a coffee shop in Italy, so perhaps I am being a bit presumptuous. (Sorry to any Italians who are reading this!) But drinking a mug of Maxwell House cappuccino, complete with real froth and chocolate dust, gives me that feeling anyway.
For those of you who don’t know, cappuccino ... ...rest easy, because I find Maxwell House’s version to be on the weak side.
Anyway, I found my box of this stuff at Tesco, for about £1.30. I had never tried it before, but it looked appealing. I could just picture myself in my dorm room, sipping a mug of foamy cappuccino in perfect bliss, like you see in films. There are two versions: Sweetened and Unsweetened. After a moment of contemplation, I decided on the Unsweetened so I could add the amount ...

Advantages: Lovely creamy froth Disadvantages: Not enough chocolate powder
...to make my self a Maxwell House Cappuccino. As I was about to throw the empty packet into the bin, I had a brain wave. Why not write an opinion on it as I drink it!! So here goes.
I first saw Maxwell House Cappuccino sachets as I strolled round Morrisons on a Sunday afternoon. Normally at work, tea and coffee are provided for us by the Company, but sometimes I get a little fed up with drinking the usual PG tips or Nescafe. Low and behold, in amongst ... ...It has the Maxwell House logo at one end. The back of the sachet has various bits of information including preparation instructions, ingredients etc. In the instructions, they refer to the sachet as a ‘stick’, for some reason.
I originally bought a single sachet which cost me 29p. I was not sure if I would like it, or how good it was so I did not want to buy a full box straight away. However, after sampling this frothy concoction, I have now purchased ...

...and crisps), I spotted this Maxwell House Instant Cappaccino in the coffee section.
The picture on the front of the pack looks yummy (I'm a sucker for a good advertisment) and because everyone knows that chocolate tastes better whilst drinking coffee, I decided to put them with the rest of my goodies. At £2.69 they were a bit steeply priced...but if you never try it you don't know what you're missing!
What do you get for your money?

... ...of instant cappaccino mix, each sachet being enough for a 200ml drink (a decent sized mug). My mugs hold quite a bit more than this, and the drink still frothed well and tasted nice.
The sachets contain dried skimmed milk, lactose and instant coffee...which doesn't sound that appealling but as soon as you pour water onto it then it looks/smells and tastes yummy.
Err....can I really make a cappaccino at home?

Advantages: Taste scrummy, Easy to do, Cheap too. Disadvantages: Nothing to complain about here.
...a review about the tasty Maxwell house cappuccino. I have to say for me these are a really good buy. They do taste like coffee but at the same time the have a smashing taste that brings them to life a bit.
So what are they I here you cry?!!
They are a coffee with a really creamy taste with that little extra oomf ! which is otherwise known as a chocolate sachet inside. The chocolate is simply cocoa powder that you just sprinkle over the top when ... ...herd about them it was actually my husbands idea. He was in the middle of the supermarket, when he decided to call and ask if I wanted to try them I said no as I wasn't much of a coffee drinker I was more of a teapot (NOT A REAL ONE OF COURSE HA HA ), but as some men do he thought bananas to her I'll treat her anyway. So when he got home he offered to make me a drink. Once in a life time opportunity so naturally I lapped it up and said YES PLEASE!! ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Maxwell House Cappuccino Coffee"
I really must confess that I have never been enthusiastic about Nescafe coffee, although for convenience sake I have bought the likes of Nescafe Classic and also Nescafe Gold Blend.Frankly I find them more than a tad bland. There are other brands that I much prefer including Boncafe, Kenco, Douwe Egberts,MaxwellHouse and various gourmet coffees.
However, quite recently I came across Nescafe Cappuccino. Oh la la.! Now that is very, very different. The smell alone is very enticing. I should add that having worked in Italy for a short time I grew to love Italian coffee in general and cappuccino in particular. Being the lazy fellow I am, I find it quite onerous to prepare cappuccino myself,so having discovered this product life was great. It is now so,so,easy to prepare a delicious cup of one of my very favourite brews.

Advantages: Convenient, All you need to add is water Disadvantages: Tastes VILE, Pieces don't dissolve very well, Small drink!
there.
-Enough for your money?-
They work out at around 22p per sachet, compared to a cafe cappuccino which ends up around £2. So yes i'd say it's decent value for what you get, although i don't think there is much inside this drink.
-Stuff i would like to add-
You only get 200ml inside this coffee. Thats nothing.
It's good value compared to what you get in coffeehouses.
Tastes repugnant!
Sometimes cappuccinos taste differently from sachet to sachet.
-Overall Conclusion-
Whether you would like this coffee or not is entirely down to your situation. If your not really a coffee lover and has never really tried the real thing, then i think you may like it. But bieng a huge coffee coveter myself, i believe, next to the MaxwellHousecappuccino, it is the WORST tasting cappuccino i have ever tasted. No doubt ...
Advantages: Jump-starts your day. Disadvantages: Tolerance and addiction.
. Some would argue this is not true, but I am speaking for myself. MaxwellHouse is fairly easy to use, convenient, affordable, and delicious.
For an 8 oz.(226 grams) of MaxwellHouse instant it costs $4.50 which is fairly reasonable, because the same amount of a cheap, no-name brand, costs about $4! Coupons in the local newspapers often add to that savings. MaxwellHouse has a fresh roasted aroma. It's flavor is that of a fine rich flavoured coffee, if the one teaspoon for six ounces of water is observed. Stronger, or more coffee, makes it stronger and more bitter. Sugar seems to make a good balance. Good rule of thumb is two tsp. of sugar for each one of coffee. I have met a few extremes like five tablespoons of coffee and forty sugars!
If you add MaxwellHouse to milk instead of water it makes for a great cappuccino! Although I prefer ...
