...** What is it? ** The Maya Wrap sling is a long piece of fabric with two brass rings on the end. It can be used to carry babies from birth (even preemies) to 35 lbs in a variety of different positions, and can even be used to carry twins, or a newborn and a toddler. It is available in different lengths, so short, tall or very large parents can wear it as well. The picture shown is of a purse which is available in matching fabrics, and is designed to clip onto the rings. ** Why would I want to do that? ** Well it means that you can get on with your day-to-day jobs whilst your little one is in direct contact with your body (a real godsend on those whiny days!). Advantages: Quick and easy to use
Disadvantages: Hard to fine tune; not so good for long carries

...Technical stuff: The Sling-Easy is a padded ring sling, which means that the rails (top and bottom long sides) are padded to make them more comfortable for your baby. The part which sits on your shoulder is also padded so that it will not dig in. It has a closed tail (everything is sewn together at the end) which makes it easy to thread through the rings and quick to tighten (just pull on the tail) but less adjustable than an open (unsewn) tail. Fabric: It is made of cotton, with sturdy plastic rings, making it very practical, hardwearing and easy to clean - just throw it in the washing machine! ...I got this sling in a package deal along with the Winnie the Pooh Changing Bag via a magazine. On reading articles about this sling I first thought it looked marvellous as it claims you can carry your baby either sitting upright facing you or lying down across your front. I'm afraid I haven't been terribly impressed with anything about this sling - the straps are flimsy and cut into my shoulders very badly - it is quite easy to get baby into the sling but then not so easy to get the sling onto you! - There is (what feels like) cardboard that supports your baby's back in the lying down position, however it only comes down as far as the bottom of his back so therefore his bum hangs down even lower.
