Considering I am someone who usually is always spending any money they have on make up lately I haven’t actually bought much. I just haven’t had the money to be buying it and all of my products were good well that was until I had a bit of a problem with my mascara. I had an older Maybelline mascara but I just couldn’t stand it much longer it was clumpy and was making my eyelashes thick and also when I touched them it was big clumps on my eyelashes and I really didn’t like this, so I decided to throw it out and find a replacement quick. I had seen at Boots another Maybelline mascara which looked good but it had competition another Max Factor one which was on offer and also looked good.
I do think my eyes are my best feature and have always been told I look like I’m wearing mascara but that doesn’t mean I don’t like products which accentuate
my eye lashes. I am usually buying expensive brands but Maybelline is one of the best reasonably priced brands to me and I have always liked them as they are constantly inventing new and better ways to solve every woman’s beauty problems. So at Boots I noticed the product at first because of its bright green packaging but at first I thought the actual mascara was bright green too and it put me off so I walked away. However after much thought, I decided in my lunch break to have another look at the mascara.
So the packaging for the mascara is the usual cylindrical tube but it is a bright metallic green colour. In white text it says Define-A-Lash and then says that it has 6.5ml of mascara in the tube, not much information is given on the tube everything is written on the cardboard packaging. What the product promises to do is create longer, defined lashes that are perfectly separated and mainly to have no clumps. This sounded ideal to me as this had been my previous problem so I could only hope it was telling the truth.
The brush wiping system gets rid of the residue product on the brush without excess meaning weightless product goes on cleaner and smoother. The brush has elastic bristles and is shaped to make sure it reaches the lash from root to tip. So I decided to stop reading the cardboard packaging and get testing. All products are listed on the back and it is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
So I did my usual morning routine, concealer, eye shadow, eye liner and so on and then my mascara. As I opened the lid and pulled out the brush you can feel the tightness of the brush in the tube and when you pull it out at the brush it makes a bristly noise which definitely means it is taking off the residue product making sure there is no clumping. I looked into the mirror and applied the mascara from root to tip it glided over the lash with ease and I instantly noticed every lash being separated, no clumping was had whatsoever and my lashes looked separated, not clumpy and also natural so that they looked like they had a natural curve.
I wore the product all day at work and as I touched my lashes they still seemed firm and there was no need to re-apply it. My lashes looked great, my eyes looked really awake and without too much mascara needing to be applied I had the result I had wanted which really made me happy.
The mascara can be bought in all good stores right now any that sell Maybelline. I bought my mascara at Boots which is the best place to probably buy it at the minute as some Maybelline products have £2 off and this is currently one of them. Instead of paying the usual retail price of £7.49 you are getting this for £5.49 which was good enough for me. Also if you have an Advantage Card you will also gain 20 more points which can never be a bad thing.
If you go to the official Maybelline website http://www.maybelline.co.uk you can see a little video of the mascara in action being pulled out of the tube to see how it gets rid of excess mascara. Also, you can see some information on the product and the different shades it comes in. I got mine in black but they do a dark brown shade to for those of you who prefer it.
If you cannot get this in any store near you then you can always opt for an online shop at http://www.superdrug.com which I hadn’t heard of before until now but the website looks good, newish. It sells the mascara at £7.49 and at the minute it is 3 for 2 on all Maybelline products.

I always find the Maybelline ad's very annoying.... the jingle is a pain lol. I haven't used their mascara yet but I have used lip glosses and lipsticks from Maybelline and always found them as good as the rest x
