Having run out of my favourite foundation, and preferring a matt coverage for evening (good wrinkle concealer) I thought it was worth giving this a go. It is apparently the UKs number one foundation (I presume in sales) so I wanted to know what it was like

~~The promise~~

This magic “revolutionary” formula is supposed to give an air soft perfect matte finish with a weightless feel; this surprises me because I never realised that foundation felt weighty. The flexible silicone polymers prevent caking and the colour pigments give superior coverage which provides soft natural looking, even toned skin.

Once again, the promises interest me, because again, we have a product promising perfection with minimum effort, and as ever, there seems to be breakthrough technology…another revolutionary product. Surely they can’t all be revolutionary!

~~The Product~~

The mousse comes in a small pot with a screw cap lid. I like pots because unlike tubes of foundation, I can see how much is left, and can get right to the last little bit- no waste for me. Tubs are also handy for getting exactly the right amount of the product. Too often I squeeze a tube, and lots of the stuff squirts out- far too much for my face, so down the sink it goes.

Unfortunately, the tub is glass, and having a dread of glass smashing on tiled floors, I would have preferred a plastic tub, but I suppose the product must keep better in glass.

The mouse itself is scentless so I assume it’s unperfumed and when I look at it, it does look all smooth, but when I dip my finger in, it does feel and look like lightly whipped mousse (of the edible variety).

~~Using it~~

There are no instructions telling me how to use it, but used like normal foundation, and blended over the face, seems to work.

~~Price and Availability~~

Costing £6.99 for a tub of (I think) 20g of the product, this is relatively good value because a little bit does go a long way.

Available from chemists and supermarkets, the product does seem to be on offer quite often, and I bought mine for £4.99 as opposed to the RRP of £6.99.

~~Other shades~~

Available in 11 shades (ivory, nude, fawn, caramel, honey beige, sun bronze, cameo, sand, sun beige, cocoa and porcelain) there is something for everyone, whether your skin tone be light, dark, or something in the middle.

~~What I think of it~~

The mousse is easy to use, reasonably priced and comes in a good range of shades.

When it is applied, it does blend easily, and gives a nice even coverage which really is matte; definitely no shine here, and no need for face powder, which is a good thing. The one thing I would say is to make sure your skin is well moisturised, as I should imagine that if there is any driness, the mousse will sort of sit on top of your skin, because it doesn’t seem to have any moisturising agents of its own.

The mousse feels soft when applied, and because it blends evenly, a little bit goes a long way, and the small tub seems to last quite a long time. The initial results are good, with really even skin tone, and soft feeling skin. However, I have found that it doesn’t last all day, and so to retain perfect skin, just reapply- simple as that.

Overall, a really good foundation which easily hides any blemishes, makes skin look near flawless, and is a great base for blusher. Although the coverage is excellent, the plus point is that it never looks thick or caked on.

There are plenty of shades to chose from, so you will be able to get as near to your natural skin tone as is possible…good news for those who don’t go for the tide mark look somewhere around the jaw line.

I will be buying it again and for a useful and reasonably priced foundation, would recommend this.

Thanks for reading.
