I bought the Waterproof version of this as I wear contact lenses and in my experience waterproof mascaras are better at not flaking off into my eyes. I paid £4.99 for this in Boots which I thought was an excellent price for a mascara. It is also available at supermarkets and pharmacies.
The packaging is a little cheap looking in my opinion. ... ...It says Maybelline in the tiniest writing imaginable and then GREAT LASH in big letters and then Waterproof in smaller letters, pink on black, underneath. It also says it’s 12.5ml. Made in France. The same information is on 2 sides of the tube which is slightly squared off rather than round. The lid is black with a sticker on top with the colour, I chose Very Black (Ultra Noir). The ordinary non-waterproof version of this has a green lid I think. ... more

It says Maybelline in the tiniest writing imaginable and then GREAT LASH in big letters and then Waterproof in smaller letters, pink on black, underneath. It also says it’s 12.5ml. Made in France. The same information is on 2 sides of the tube which is slightly squared off rather than round. The lid is black with a sticker on top with the colour, I chose Very Black (Ultra Noir). The ordinary non-waterproof version of this has a green lid I think. It came on a cardboard backing that I’ve now thrown away but I don’t think there was any extra information on it. It is available the following colours: Very Black, Soft Black, Brownish Black, Dark Brown and Royal Blue.
When I opened the tube I was pleased to se that the mascara didn’t have any gloopy or clumpy bits around the top. When you pull the wand out it contains only a little of the mascara which I liked. When you apply it, it goes on smoothly if a little thinly. I needed about 3 applications to get a good result but I was pleased with the look. My lashes were defined and looked long and didn’t stick together at all. I’m afraid I can’t comment on the waterproofness of this product as I haven’t tried it in the shower or swimming but I assume that since it smudges during a normal day, it’s not going to be very effective under water.
However, by the end of the day I looked like a panda. I had loads of black around my lower lashes and I know it must have been the mascara as I’ve been wearing the same eyeliner as before and I’ve never had this problem. As it’s waterproof it takes a little while to get it off using ordinary eye-makeup removers. I thought I’d gotten most of it off but when I woke up this morning there were black smudges under both eyes again. I am very disappointed by this as I assumed that waterproof mascaras would stay put. I don’t know whether this is a fault that happens with the ordinary non-waterproof version of this. I’d like to keep using this as I like the way it goes on but if it continues to smudge then I think I’ll have to continue my hunt for the perfect mascara.

...the 'famous' pink tube of Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof. This one has a black cap instead of the umm now what was it? Green ? thats the normal lid of Great Lash isnt it?
I am amazed that there is no packaging as such, I just picked it of the display stand.....I took one from the back as I couldnt help wondering just how many people had 'sampled' the ones at the front. Thats right no cardboard box....just a tube of mascara.
This is a very weird ... ...Have to report that Maybelline great lash waterproof passed test number 2 with flying colours-no smudges and still looked very good.

...magazines etc say how wonderful Maybelline Great Lash mascara is. I cannot pass comment on the regular variety but I found this waterproof one to be very disappointing. The product is in a pink tube with bright green top so very distinctive and easy to spot. It has the wording in black down the side.
It cost me £4.79 in Boots but I'm sure a better price could be found if you shop around.
So, onto using the mascara: It took several coats to get ... ...better than this, especially from Maybelline as other products of theirs that I have tried have been very good. The mascara now sits unused at the bottom of my make-up drawer. I decided to try other brands and found rimmel's new waterproof mascara a better budget buy (3.99)and Boots No7 a superior 'quality' purchase (6.29) ...

After reading some of the reviews about this mascara I was persuaded to go out and buy a tube to try. I thought I would go for the waterproof version just because it was raining that week and I decided upon 'very black' as the colour.
I bought this from Boots and it cost me £4.88. I was a bit sceptical at first as I thought the tube looked a bit cheap - its bright pink with a black handle - and I wasn't sure if I wanted to change from my usual brand.
... ...was a little messy but the mascara didn't clump and glided on effortlessly. My lashes didn't stick together afterwards but I had a few specks of mascara on my eyelids which were easily removed using a cotton bud. The mascara dried quickly and I was surprised by the result. Application tips
To get your eye lashes to look really thick and long apply as follows??get your wand close to the root of your eye lashes and wiggle the wand side to side bringing the wand up slowly to the ends of you're lashes then apply a second coat this achieves a great result and sexy lashes.
Maybellinegreatlash isn't waterproof mascara but it does last all day and doesn't smudge.

I will be reviewing MaybellineGreatLash Mascara in 'Blackest Black', non-waterproof. I always use the blackest mascara I can find as I like the striking eyes effect. I believe the other colours it is available in are 'very black' and 'brown'. The waterproof version is available in a pink tube with black lid.
*Price and Packaging*
I paid £4.99 for my mascara in boots. For this you get 12.5ml of mascara. I love the packaging, the bottle is really cute in hotpink with a black sticker on the side with 'GreatLash' written across the side. The lid is lime green and looks really funky with the pink bottle. Looks very stylish in your make-up bag! The wand is in an oval shape.

I love this mascara, i use the waterproof version but not for waterproofing purposes. The formula is much better than regular as it dries up quicker so locks in a defined curl, its also easier t build up to create a pretty false lash effect.
Iv tried a few expensive mascaras including YSL faux cils which is ok but only for a week and also lancome flextencils which was total rubbish.
Maybelline volume express waterproof is great for asian lashes, its cheap so i can easily buy a new one when its gets a bit dry without any money problems. The price has rose up to £5.49 in boots but i dont mind too much, aslong as it doesnt get discontinued am ok.
I find this mascara to give extreme thick lashes, it doesnt add alot of length, just a bit. Its easy to build up thickness aslong as you wait for the previous coat to dry. My friend piles ...
