Shopaholic me just couldn’t resist the temptation of buying a tube of this stuff last time I went to Superdrug, but then again who could? Not only is it packaged in it pink tube, it was also half price, a stunning, sparkling, dazzling, less then 1 hours baby-sitting earnings £2.24…
Packaging:
Most companies try to make their mascara’s look sleek and sophisticated by packaging them in black or silver tubes, yawn, Maybelline on the other hand has gone for the fresh and funky approach and have packaged theirs in a pink square tube with black writing and a lime green lid, me like:)!
Colour Range:
I bought Very Black but you can also get Soft Black, Brownish Black, Dark Brown and Royal Blue. Very black is, surprise surprise, a very dark black colour. I would recommend soft black to those of you who want less dramatically black lashes.
Application:
The wand looks classic, but claims to be ‘lash-building’ (although I can’t say I find it any different from normal wands). I find it is easier to use than some other mascaras as the wand is quite small, it goes on smoothly and only one coat is needed as it coats lashes sufficiently with one sweep, also it doesn’t leave any clumps if only one coat is applied. It separates lashes well instead of clumping them together like some mascara’s do.
Result:
Beautiful fluttery lashes! I am quite lucky in that I have very thick lashes but they aren’t that long so what I like best about this mascara is that it gives my lashes more length.
To get the best results from any mascara you should always start with clean lashes, curl them with eyelash curlers, apply the mascara and then comb through with a little eyelash comb. I can’t say that I curl or comb my eyelashes very often, but I do for special occasions and it really does make a difference.
Staying power:
Pretty good, although not water proof so I wouldn’t recommend going out in the rain, unless of course you like the panda look. No, but seriously this stuff will stay on all day without flaking off or smudging which is pretty good news for people like me who don’t give a second thought to their make-up after putting it on in the morning.

I bought this the other day and love it!!! It was also half price when i got it too, now im going to have trouble finding it again as i think it has been discontinued. Damn it!!! Anyway very helpful review

I think this was the first mascara I ever bought at about the tender age of 12 when I was desperate to start wearing make up... then remember going in a swimming pool with it on and realising why maybe I wasn't quite ready to start wearing it yet! Lucie xxx
