I brought this mascara after two of my friends said it was really good and that it really separated your lashes. My previous one that I was using was one by 17 - Ultimate Curl - which I think is boots' own make.
The size of this version is 12.5ml. The packagaing is quite distinguishing and isn't your average looking mascara tube, colour wise that is. The lid is lime green and the tube is slightly darker than baby pink with a black sticker going down the tube on the front and back giving you the name, make and size. But the colours work well together and gives it a unique effect.The Applicator As you pull the applicator out of the tube, there is no clumps. The bristle's are different to other mascaras as they are not in lines, but twirl around the brush. I think that this helps to coat each lash more easily. The length of the applicator I think is shorter than previous mascara's I have owned, but I think this helps, as you feel you have more control over the applicator when you are applying it and can apply more pressure to your lashes.
The Mascara Maybelline Great Lash Mascara claims that it will give you: "Perfectly defined lashes with a clean, separate finish". I find that this macara seperates your eyelashes perfectly and enhances their look by making them appear fuller, thicker and more natural - no spider legs! It also states that the Lash Building Brush makes them fuller and longer. It does make them longer but only to an extent. I have fairly small eyes so the longer my lashes, the bigger my eyes look. I find it helps if I use eyelash curlers first then apply the mascara, but I just might have non-curly eyelashes.
This particular one isn't waterproof, as I found out this year in the pool on holiday, and I don't think Great Lash do a waterproof version. It doesn't irritate my eyes and find it comes off easily using make-up remover. On some mornings, I do find that I have slight black marks under my eyes from my make-up the night before, but this could just be that I am not taking it off fully. :S
Value for money is brilliant. If you are looking for an average mascara which does the job for everyday use and that isn't too expensve, this is for you. £4.99 is a real bargain.

Advantages: bold, gives volume and length, clump-free, no flaking, long lasting, cheap! Disadvantages: is quite bold if you dont like that sort of thing
