...illusion I'm getting more with Maybelline than I am with the Revlon one. Also disadvantage of the Revlon one is you don't know what you are putting on your face as there's no sign of its contents anywhere.
The colour of the tube is pretty much the shade you get within the tube itself. Another plus point for me as it helps to see what shade your getting before you try. The tube itself is sealed with a silver top.
Front ... ...and weary about switching, perhaps Maybelline instant rewind isn't the best option.
It feels very soft in my hands. After applying it to my face, surprisingly that feels soft and smooth too.
It does as the package suggests after application my skin feels brighter and the appearance of the few lines I have got have virtually "disappeared". Even my eyes look healthier and full of life.
Don't you just hate it when you wake up in the morning and see all those fine lines appearing above your forehead and bags under your eyes? I know I'm only 25 and still quiet young but never realised how tired and dull my eyes and face looked until recently.
I'm always one for trying the newest product on the market (even if it doesn't always agree with me). When I saw this product being advertised on TV last week, it convinced me to go suss it out, especially after seeing how good it looked on model Kristen Davies.
I went into superdrug and to my surprise I found out it was cheaper than I anticipated. I'll confess it wasn't the only anti-ageing foundation on the market but the fact that it gave you instant results, had some sun protection and even lists the ingredients on the back persuaded me to give it a whirl. Knowing exactly what is in the product is always a plus for me (especially if you have sensitive skin that reacts to certain products).
Packaging
It comes in a decent size tube of 30ml. Even though you get the same amount of foundation as in the Revlon range (which is currently priced at £4.99), when I put the 2 products side by side it gives me the illusion I'm getting more with Maybelline than I am with the Revlon one.
Front of the tube is kept simple and to the point. Tells me exactly what the product is.
I can see it's got a sun protection factor of 18. This is good for me, especially when I spend alot of time in the great outdoors.
I would have liked the shade label printed at the end to be slightly bigger as it is hidden away and can be easily missed by some.
Back of the tube is set out nicely too with step by step instructions of how to apply the make up as well as what it was made of, how they tested it etc.
No mention of price anywhere on the tube itself but it is clearly labelled in its respective shelf on the make up stand.
Colour
This particular foundation is currently available in 6 different shades (listed from lightest to darkest): Ivory, Nude, Cameo, Sand, Fawn and Caramel.
I have dark skin so it's often hard to find a match most suitable for me. Caramel will be too dark and Fawn tends to be a little pale. However if you mix and match 2 or more shades together you can almost certainly come up with a shade that almost matches your skin tone. I'm hoping they'll bring out a shade in between the Fawn and Caramel soon.
These shades tend to come out a little lighter than what the colour scheme found on the stand suggests. If you are used to wearing nude you might end up having to go for sand or cameo. It's always advisable to try out the testers readily available in store first before you buy. Being makeup, the sales consultants are rather reluctant to give you refunds.
Texture
One squeeze of the tube and it comes out. No problems on that front. I've found in the past it can be a struggle to get the foundation out (especially the liquid ones).
It's a little bit slithery and slimey. If you normally use powdered foundations and weary about switching, perhaps Maybelline instant rewind isn't the best option.
It feels very soft in my hands. After applying it to my face, surprisingly that feels soft and smooth too.
It does as the package suggests after application my skin feels brighter and the appearance of the few lines I have got have virtually "disappeared". Even my eyes look healthier and full of life.
However, after a few hours, my skin is beginning to feel abit sticky and after a long day's shift my face is becoming on the dry side yet again. So dry that I end up having to apply loads and loads of moisturiser to compensate for it.
Price
This product is currently retailed at £6.99 at boots and superdrug, although I only paid £5.49 for mine.
I had no problems with availability as they had plenty of all 6 shades in stock (but this may vary from store to store so don't bank on it).
Conclusion
On the whole it does as it suggests, giving you instant results.
I just don't think this product is suited to me (not the best shade match, leaves my skin feeling alot drier than normal). After I've finished the tubes I'll definitely be switching back to clinque or boots no 7.
For further information about this product, you can visit www.boots.co.uk and type in "Maybelline Instant rewind foundation" into the search box. Information about this product isn't currently avaliable on the Maybelline website. I would strongly recommend buying in store rather than over the internet. You can't always judge which one will suit you best from a picture. I found as with the stand the colours do appear lighter than advertised. When I compare my actual tube to the one on the website I can see a slight difference between the two.
Be warned it contains caffeine too so if you want to use a fragrance free, caffeine free, liquid free foundation I'd stay clear of this product, as it has them all!!

Review of Maybelline Instant Rewind Anti-Ageing Foundation
why is it that maybelline products are getting harder and harder to find different shades, nowhere seems to do them anymore, i try to get darker shades( i am mixed race) and my skin colour changes depending on if it is summer or winter, as I lose my colour in the winter. The shops don't seem to do them, and it is not as though I live in a small town or village, is it just cities that do more shades like London, Manchester etc... and if you use the ... ...neck and you can blatantly see that you have foundation on as it does not blend in at all. So has anyone got any suggestions is it best just to try a different brand, also i suffer from really sensitive skin so have to be really careful with any products ...
