When it comes to make up I have always gone for the cheapest product on offer at the time.In the past this has led to me having some pretty crappy experiences with mascara in particular.I'm sure all us girls have been there.You bring home a new mascara only to find that it makes your lashes stick together and look clumpy.It's a complete disaster and it has the ability to put us in a bad mood for hours.
Stephen,(Super_Stevo on here and also my gorgeous fiancee),knows how much my make up means to me and he also knew I'd been wanting to start looking after myself a bit more and buy some proper more expensive make up to help me feel sexier.So on my birthday he took a trip to the shops and just for me he embarrassed himself by buying me this lush mascara.He was worried apparently
that the people in the shop would think it was for him lol.
So he got it home and hid it ready for me to find along with some other presents too.When I saw it I couldn't believe it.It's amazing how something so small can make you so happy ;) lol.So before I ramble on even more I'll tell you more about the product.
*Packaging*
It came on a piece of cardboard covered in plastic with the classic maybelline logo.There is no other way I can put that lol.The tube is pretty thick and is a really dark blue colour.It looks quite stylish and makes me think it's perfect for the business woman and a girl on the go.That doesn't mean however that it wouldn't suit us girls that aren't always on the go though!
*How does it work?*
Well apparently it wraps lashes 360 degrees and it doesn't clump lashes together.This is what I like to hear!But is it actually true?I mean how many products promise things like that?and out of them how many actually work?Well I'll keep an open mind.When I pulled the mascara wand out of the bottle I noticed that there isn't a lot of excess liquid.This looks like good news as it means it won't put on more than is needed and it won't clump easily.I have to say though that I find it strange that the wand is straight.I expected it to be curved so it could do it's job properly.I mean how can something that is straight make something curl?
It seems to glide over lashes with no problem and tada!It doesn't leave any clumps.It covers all lashes without a problem and you don't have to reapply more than once if you don't want to.I tend to still apply two coats of the stuff but that is only through habbit and I like to have the deepest shade of black possible.And even though there isn't any clumps usually I still like to use an eyelash comb just to make sure the lashes are as great as they could be.
I have to say I felt a whole lot sexier knowing my lashes were looking their best.It boosts confidence and really makes you feel good.
*How long does it stay on?*
I've found it stays on all day.Like I said earlier you don't have to reapply if you don't want to.In fact you'll find the problem is trying to get the stuff off!I find the easiest way to do it is to use baby wipes.It takes me around 5 minutes to get it all off.However just using water and a towel or tissues will take longer to remove it.
It isn't waterproof so it will eventually come off if it comes in contact with water.That is another disadvantage if it is raining and you're out on your lunch break or out on a hot date.
*Price and availability*
Stephen bought me this as a present so obviously I didn't ask for how much it cost.However I have seen it in superdrug for £6.95.It is a little on the expensive side for my liking but then I've noticed in order to find something that works you have to be willing to pay that bit extra.It can be found in most chemists and body care stores and in some supermarkets too.I aren't sure how much each place will charge but I find prices seem to vary from place to place.
*My overall opinion*
All in all I love this product.I might try something new but I am happy with this product so I'm not sure if I will or not yet.I love how it makes my lashes look and although it does cost quite a bit I think it's definately worth the money.After all it lasts at least 3 months so it's got to be worth it.
The advantages of this product definately outweigh the disadvantages and I don't mind at all that it's hard to remove because it just proves to me it's staying power.It's widely available and I've heard no complaints so far from people who have used this product.
I'll be forever thankful to Stephen for introducing me to this product and I'll never have to worry about my lashes again.
