Is it me or are most mascaras now aimed at the "night" look rather than the "day" look? I was on a mission to find a clever little mascara that was a little more discreet and that didn't make me look like a barbie doll so I could feel comfortable wearing mascara during the day and I think that I might have succeeded in my mission! :)
PACKAGING The mascara comes in a black tube, with neon blue writing on it. The reservoir is V-shaped which is supposed to hold a lot of liquid to help build a thicker look. I don't think that this necessarily makes the product any better than any other mascara on the market at the moment but I have learnt not to judge mascara on the appearance of the tube!
THE BRUSH What an exciting brush! When you twist the tube open, out pops a comb - comb for yor eyelashes! There are two layers of spikes to act in a V-shape which is to lift your eyelashes an extra 65%. The reasoning for the comb rather than a brush - as far as I can gather- is to prevent or reduce clumping of mascara.
THE APPLICATION This mascara is so easy to apply and it gets to all of my lashes, even the tiny ones in the corner! There is an instant noticeable difference once the mascara has been applied. My lashes are immediately longer and thicker. However, one disappointment is that no matter how much I try I can't get my lashes to look as thick at the base as the model in the advert . I think it's just other make up and camera effects that make their eyelashes so perfect - well that what I like to think!
The greatest thing about this mascara is that it is smudgeproof and waterproof. I have no worries (about my mascara) when walking in the rain. And as it is smudgeproof my eyes look as bright and the mascara looks as freshly applied at the end of a long day as it does first thing in the morning. Although this all sounds fab - and it is- I find it extremely difficult to remove. I have to use make up remover, use cleansing wipes and scrub my eyes before it will come off which is all together very time consuming!
THE PRICE This mascara cost around £7 - although when compared to other mascaras this doesn't appear too much, I still think its a bit pricey. I have not had this mascara long but I'm hoping that it will last me a while yet!
COLOURS This mascara is avaliable in black and brown as far as I'm aware.
MY CONCLUSION Despite the difficulty in removing the mascara, I love this mascara. It's deep black and rich. Moreover, one coat in perfect for comfortable day wear.
